Cool Is250 to IsF???

1. I want to know if it may be possible to swap my 2008 is250 v6 engine for the ifs engine and transmission. Would it be a necessary savings oppose to buying a used Isf? The transmission is awesome with fast shifts, maybe thats all i need. Any thoughts!!!

2. Other question is there a video out there for changing the transmission fluid on the is250 model...Supposedly the fluid will last the life of the car. What exactly is the life of the 2008 is250??

Possible, yes. Practical, no. Too many things are very different under the hood, and even the 250 hood won't work.

There are a number of threads on changing transmission fluid on the ISx50 in the 2IS main forum. It's not easy and it's not recommended.

I think you would be much better off selling your car and buying an ISF if that is what your after.

Regarding the trans fluid IMHO 100k would be the max for me with regular driving.

That transmission shifts one hundredths of a second...its a dream. I wish the is250 had a way of tweaking the computer for faster down and upshifts

wrong section to ask this. Go to the IS Second generation section. Only thing I've heard is guys adding the F-Sport rear sway bar to the IS F

Why go through all the hassle? IMHO, just trade in your 250 or sell it and then get an F bro! You wont regret it

Anything can be done with money...I say you prove us all wrong and do it.

You'll forever be remembered on the interweb and Club Lexus

Generally speaking, anything on an F, is considered better than FSport, so you won't find many of us downgrading, except for the FSport sway bar, which is an upgrade in the F. But who knows, probably the F engineers gave the F a smaller diameter sway bar for a reason. Maybe in the whole scheme of things, it's smaller for a very good reason.

If you click search (between New Posts and Quick Links above) and select Advanced Search, you can type in "is-f swap" and search by Title Only.

QFT - we won't really know until someone puts both setups on the track and reports back.

Youre going to need to just trade up! I'm debating doing the trade but I dont know about doing it so late in the 2IS model cycle... And my is250 is completely done/modded so I'd have to start over... haha
