Default What do your ML speakers look like?

Hey guys new ISF owner here, we have also owned a 2002 RX, 2007 IS250, 1994 ES300, and 2004 SC430. The RX and ES are gone now but the others are still in the family.

I wanted to dynamat my doors in order to reduce the road noise and I just think that my speakers do not look like the ML speakers. My 07 IS did not have ML so I do not have a comparison point other than the ebay pictures for a new replacement however those could be newer speakers.

Ive attached pictures of my lower two speakers could anyone with an 08 ISF please let me know if this looks correct? It was about to rain so I only did the driver door or else I would have done a comparison with the passenger side but anyhow any help is much appreciated. The bezel around the speakrs did say ML and the speaker seemed like it was sealed on there. I unscrewed it to check the back of the speaker but the back of the actual speaker does not have any #s that correspond with the part #. The speaker surround (foam is attached to the screws) was never before broken so my assumption is that the speaker came with the bezel...maybe from a different older model?

I am about to order a few things from Sewell so I can just order replacements if necessary...the sound is fine however if the previous owner replaced speakers they might not be the right Ohms.

Thanks!

I can't tell by your pics...they're not blurry enough

What are you trying to accomplish? You don't know what ML looks like, but you don't think they're ML... You say it sounds fine, but you're looking. It's like you're trying to find a problem? If it works, and it sounds good...why not just leave it alone?

You know...cars change parts and part numbers constantly. Sometimes, some cars come with these springs for suspension, and some cars come with something else. And they could all be in the same year etc. What's you concern with the ohms? Are you going to run a separate amp?

No I wasnt looking to replace them based on it sounding fine, I am was applying sound deadening and figured I would ask since they just look like cheap speakers. Ohms concern me because if the original owner replaced these with a different speaker then it will kill the amp over time. I figured might as well fix it while the door panel is off. I specifically said they do not look like the ML speakers for sale on Sewell.

Are you sure that Sewell has the correct photos up too? Just asking. All factory speakers look cheap...they're all paper coned whatevers. ML or not...ML is just a name that's put on top to make stuff seem better.

It's like buying a Cartier watch...it's just a "fashion" watch, with some generic internals. It's not like buying a high end Patek Philippe.

Thats what I think too maybe the pics arent right, I posted on the regular 2IS forums and another member said my speakers are ML so im closing her up and just letting her be lol. I added 2 12 w6 subs so I am perfectly happy with the sound quality.

nothing that correlates to a lexus part #, the lexus part # is on the bezel and its marked ML. When I unscrewed the speaker from that bezel it was still sealed and never been removed before so its safe to say the speaker and bezel came from a dealer that way.

Mine had a silver cone and they were NOT paper. But I have 2011. I think the earlier models had all black speakers.
