Lexus Magazine: Does the IS CCS-R hint at where the Lexus IS F is going?
Yaguchi: What I’m trying to do is keep this vehicle as a benchmark for the future of the IS F, so the IS F can move in this direction. What I’ve built into this car is the ultimate performance of the IS F, and I’d like to reflect a lot of its traits in the production version.

Your welcome.
One thing that could be read into the article is the next IS F isn't going to focus on increasing power but on shedding weight to increase the BHP per ton, fuel efficiency and handling.

Hmmmmm. I may have to hold off buying to get more info on the next IS-F. I will say, however, that I am not a fan of styling direction Lexus appears to be taking. The GS looks great, but I do not like the ES or RX.....
I do not think it will get down to 3200 pounds with all the safety requirements. Nissan's 370Z weighs 3230 in itself..... I would see the IS-F weighing in closer to the M3 or less, 3500 on the low side to 3600 on the higher side....

If all lexus does is lower the weight 2-400 lbs it will still be quite under powered when compared to the current gen M3/5 S/RS and AMG cars - I'd love to see a power bump to make it truly competitive not just an also ran entry.

With the way Toyota likes to hold onto the same engines for years and years, I wouldn't be surprised if the next gen ISF uses almost the same powertrain setup, albeit with a modest power jump. As long as they keep improving the little things like they have been in the last few years, I think the next generation will be great. If they only put 1/3 of the weight saving measures from the car in this article into the next ISF, I would still be happy. A 450 bhp ISF with a 3600 lb curb weight would be awesome. Even if the competition gets higher numbers from forced induction, a N/A motor car with great torque and 8lbs/bhp would be a blast...especially considering the current ISF has 9.09lbs/bhp. I hope they work a little harder with the next generation ISF to get closer to a 50:50 weight split.

you will never make big power on a smallish v8 without some type of forced induction, no boost no big power - and the more boost the better....ask a supra owner running 40 lbs of boost what they think about boosted cars.
