2008 ISF & 2011 E92 M3 - exhaust video
*08/26/12 Update* Video of us launching our cars in a closed parking lot at UW: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=4169430547964
Hey guys,
My brother picked up a 2011 M3 last month and just had his exhaust done (oem exhaust mod). I also did the muffler delete on my 2008 ISF a couple months ago.
Here's a quick sound clip of both exhaust notes from his Iphone 4S. Not the greatest video but it works

How do i post the video onto this site? i tried the "Embed Video" code but it doesn't work
Took this photo last week at Alki beach

I like that you both chose blue cars.
Completely biased of course, but I think the IS-F sounds a lot better. It is less raspy and it is deeper. The M3 did sound great at the very end of the soundclip where he got it up higher in the rev band though. Both are nice cars.
So, I'm sure you've compared them against each other in all sorts of areas. Care to share your thoughts on how one compares to the other?

the m3 can sound x10 better with an actual exhaust, but everyone has their own preference.

Thanks
Both cars have different exhaust tones and are beautiful in person. Both sound much better in person i must say.
A brief comparison. His M3 is more rough at idle, sensitive throttle and acceleration and takes an extra split second to feel the umph whereas my F is very smooth and has lots of low end torque with a nice pull during acceleration. The M3 has surprisingly comfortable front and rear leather seats when compared to his previous 08 328i coupe. I love my leather seats in my F, very comfortable. M3's suspension does feel rough on poor/jagged roads but it's nearly the same in my F (M3 may be a little stiffer). I haven't taken the M3 on crazy turns/curves so can't say too much about the handing but it feels very planted to the ground, both cars are very solid in this category. I really like his interior carbon fiber weave accents, it looks/feels synthetic. M3's harmon kardon sound system is pretty nice and sounds better than my F's Mark Levinson (blown subwoofer that is getting replaced by Lexus in a few days ). I've always been an M3 fan so I really like the look and finish of them, however, I couldn't justify switching over after hearing endless reliability issues. Both cars are awesome to drive, both are very fast and both cars have their own personalities to which reflects their owners
Sometime in the near future (in a safe, controlled environment), we'll do it and i'll post it up LOL

Hey everyone. We went to a closed parking lot at UW and did a bunch of launches with each other's cars. My first time launching with Sport mode + Manual shift. Uber fun!!
