DOh! I had a c350 and after my tune he warned me to be careful above 85mph cause the engine might shut off. Said it happens to one of his customers while he was in the car and it scared the chit out of him. Needless to say, as much as I love mb, I was always worried about the reliability and potential cost of ownership. There is something nice as to a level of comfort-relaxation with the Lexi.

It wasn't so much the reliability issues that I've heard from the MB and BMW side, but rather the wow factor that I still get up when I pull up in the F. Knowing that I can go beyond 85 without worrying about something malfunctioning is a great feeling as well.

Holy crap! I was considering the C63 before I bought my F. Might have dodged a bullet there...

Was thinking it's an isolated incident, but in the first EIGHT posts of that thread there are a total of FOUR members who had this happen to them... scary!

MB is much worst...lets just say I know someone had to get their engine rebuild due to some cheap part they used....

Like I said in the F vs M3 post, my MECH is an MB Dealer certified TECH for 3 years now and prior to that was a Lexus Dealer certified TECH for 14 years. When I popped him the question which one was more reliable he immediately said "Lexus by far without a doubt. When those MB's break, they break".

I am sure most of their customers get allured by their "class" and "German engineering" whatever that means as far as reliability.

does it go below 85? just curious...

yes, people stop and take photos of the IS F...and the SC. They are "lookers".
