Still, a $55,500 price pre T/T/L is still a very good deal on a car that had an MSRP of $64K or thereabouts. Negotiation skills aside, they must have been nervous that they wouldn't sell the car, or maybe they needed to just move it, because there's simply no incentive for a dealership to sell a car under invoice in most circumstances.
My personal philosophy has always been buy used, lease new. Depending on the car and circumstances, sometimes I might buy, sometimes I might lease. If it is a car I think I'm going to keep for awhile, I'll scour the net for hours looking for the "right" deal on a used car, because I want someone else to have taken the hit instead of me.
