Default Do I get the prize for biggest trade up?

Hey everyone. I've had my F for about 6 weeks now. I'm coming from a 2005 Honda Civic LX. The differences between the two cars are so obvious, it's really not even worth mentioning. But one thing to point out is that the ride comfort is actually much better in the F. And the F, by my estimation, is faster than my Civic beginning at just under 3,000rpm .

If you want to talk about a slow car that gets absolutely no respect on the roads, look no further than a Silver 2005 Honda Civic LX. And there's nothing you can do about it becuse the car does not accelerate fast enough to drive defensively. On a typical day doing my 10 mile round trip commute to and from work, I will usually get cut off ~5 times by people who simply DO NOT want to drive behind a Civic. In the 6 weeks I've had my F, I've been cut off no more than a few times. This car demands respect and this is mainly the reason I bought it...and as I learn how to drive it fast, it's turning into the best thing I've ever bought.

She's a 2011 Ultrasonic Blue with 16,000 miles (Mark Levinson and Navigation). I payed $53,500 +$2,000 for 70k extended warranty. Considering the known reliability of this car, I thought this was a good deal compared to paying for a brand new F. I've noticed this car is so uncommon that people don't know what it is. Most people do a double-take when I drive by and I get plenty of smiles and hellos from hot girls. On the downside to lots of people not knowing what this car is, I also get the occasional ricer-flyby (or just flybys in general). Shoo fly, don't bother me!

The few complaints I have with this car are not the car itself, but the previous owner. The OEM windshield was replaced with some cheap after-market glass. Can anyone suggest the best approach to getting the windshield replaced with OEM? I'm guessing if I go through insurance, I'll end up with another cheap after-market piece. I would like to try to source one from someplace and have it installed by a specialist -- but I don't know where to look for the best prices. Also, the rear tint is limousine black and I can barely check my blind spots at dusk and dawn when it's not bright enough outside. Although people love sitting in the back seat because of it, I'm considering re-tint.

edit:
and if you look closely at the reflection on the paint, you will see my brother's 2008 mercury metallic is f

Nice car!

I don't have any blind spots in the F. Make sure you are adjusting your mirrors properly.

You have competition, I'm coming from a 1998 Acura Integra LS!!!!!! I still kept it cause it's the first car I bought in college, and is treating me well with minimal issues so far. Congrats in the F and be safe. It took me a while to get used to 416HP coming from 140HP.

Thanks. I will adjust my mirrors based on your suggestion. I've had cars and motorcycles creep into my blind spot who were driving at the peripheral of my mirror's view (prior experiences) so I always physically turn my head now to look towards my immediate left. It's more of an unstoppable habit than anything else at this point. This is mainly only a concern when merging onto highways. I'll go extra wide on the driver's side mirror and see if I can kill an old habit.

I'm not going to lie, I do miss my Civic a little bit and thought maybe I should have kept it. Mainly because it was so cheap to own and operate. When I crunched the numbers for 2011, I spent +/- $1,800 on gas+insurance+maintenance for the entire year. I will probably spend at least that much on gas alone with the F

Nice ride! I just picked up a 2011 USB F with 17,000 miles a few weeks ago. I would call your local dealership and get a price on a oem windshield. They should have no trouble getting you connected with a good windshield installer. These cars defiantly get attention from lots of people. You simply don't see them.

The first weekend I owned her, I got on the freeway driving it like I would my Civic (pedal to the floor because that's all I know) -- looked down at the digital speedometer and, "Oh sh#t, I'm doing 120!" It really did feel like it would have felt if I were doing 80mph in my old ride. It was a big wake-up call to be 100% conscious of my speed and rpm's at all times.

WOW...that seems a lot to pay for a used car with 16k miles. Was $53,500 OTD? I paid $55,500 for my car brand new with 19 miles.

WTF? You get girls saying hello? I constantly get dudes saying "nice car man"
