Towing with the "F"

Towing with the "F"
I know she is not rated to tow anything, but as I was towing my boat (a 26 foot sea ray) back from a weekend of fun with the family I couldn't help but think how much better this trip would be if I were driving my "F" . 1. I would be home in half the time, 2. I could stop this damn boat with our MONSTER BRAKES! (really Lexus what the hell were you thinking when you gave the is-f Brakes bigger than a lx570!!? 3. My gas mileage would have surely been better than 9mpg! Arrggg!!!! Although getting this beast out of the water requires 4 low for the torque and traction, yet it still engages traction control on our slippery boat ramps around here.

I looked at this myself and spoke to the dealer, basically you only need to worry about it if your car is still under warranty i.e. gearbox etc.
Other than this you might be able to use the IS rating as a guide. For me it was for a race car and at this stage thinking of a dedicated tow vehicle.
I would also suggest you should not be looking at the cars brakes to pull up the trailer but look at a trailer with brakes as this will give you a bigger tow rating.
Lexus do supplier a tow ball set up for IS models but I think it is a low tow rating.
Might be worth going to a custom tow ball company.
