We are less than a week away. I'm going to try to keep this thread on the 1st page until Saturday morning so that we can set any last minute plans.

First off... I've got a list of 12-13 people who have expressed interest in attending. Now that it is in a few days, let's get some confirmation of who is in and out. If you're on the list, please just let me know if you are attending, or if you're not on the list but you want to be, let me know that too!

Still up in the air, I may have to be in DC that day but I will play it by ear..

Have you planned out the F caravan from Virginia Beach yet?

I will as soon as I know who all is planning on attending from down this way. No point in a caravan if everyone bails out on the meet. Figure we'll meet up in a parking lot close to the interstate, about 2hrs before the meet in Richmond and then caravan up. I just made the drive to Richmond last week and it takes about 1:30 give or take a few mins.

Not sure, but probably 18. Either way, we'll decide at lunch how many people want to run their cars at the strip. I have it at the end as an option for those who are interested. Again, if nobody seems interested in running their cars then we can always skip that portion of the meet.

Thats what I was thinking. Looks like I will have to sit out of the drag portion of the meet.

As far as I know age doesn't matter. So long as you have a license I think. I don't recall them checking ages or anything last time I was there so I expect you should be able to run.

VBB I should still be a go for this Sat.

^^ Good to hear Fasttexasz, Ryan and Francis! I sent PM's to those who have not yet responded to remind them to post in here if possible to let us know of the plans.

I will be there and I definitely want to run on the track. Does anyone know if you can have passengers? My 13 year old wants to ride along.

Yes, you can have passengers as long as the parent or guardian signs a waiver (so obviously you could do that).

For those interested in drag racing, there are a few rules:
-$25 for open test and tune (unlimited number of runs during the 11:00-4:00 time slot).
-Your car must pass tech inspection (that will be no problem for any of our cars, no matter what mods you have)
-You must wear a helmet if you run faster than 14.000. This goes for passengers in your car as well. Pretty much any DOT approved helmet will do. I used to wear a motorcycle helmet back when I went to the drag strip with other cars.
-You must also wear long pants and shoes... no flip flops or shorts

Most of the time they'll let you run once if you honestly don't know how fast you're going to go... but if you end up running faster than a 14.00 (and you will) they'll warn you that another run that fast without a helmet will get you kicked out.

Actually I just checked the rules and if you can get your parents to sign a waiver you can run as long as you have a valid license.
