I own one for daily commuting . BRZ/FRS is great looking car beside the handling. That drag test was one part of best driver's car tests. Brz shouldn't be selected for the drag race as they mentioned. For the 2012 MT best driver's car, BRZ placed 4th among those super power cars. If price is a factor then it would win the compettion. Btw, like that new GTR.... it's too fast for the money.

BRS/FR-S is deemed a really good driver's car though I have yet to drive one. It certainly stands no chance in that group of cars but it won it's respective category against it's PEERS so no big deal.

IS-F should not be included since it did not win in it's respective class (E63, M3, CTS-V, etc) and it's not in the same league as most of those cars.

If you could get the BRZ to 300whp, add wider/stickier rubber, a better suspension and brakes, it would hold its own easily in that competition. If you did it right, I imagine you would be out of pocket in the low 40s for that, including the car...that's some bang for the buck.

Guys, a lot of this is marketing push and money exchanged via the ad side of the house for play.

Why do you think Audis are almost in every chase scene in the flicks?

What makes you think it will be any easier to crack the engine management on this car compared to any other Toyota?

It's going to be another long wait for the aftermarket...

After few years seeing those audio w/ DRL trend on every streets, I dont see anything else from the audi. I would take the M & 3 series over the audi S & A series any day if I go w/ german brand. Btw, for what it is the BRZ/FRS is good for real !

I am not an Audi fan. My point is simply that there was a lot of marketing behind the scenes in this BS drag race...and bias.

Spend alittle time over here..... http://www.ft86club.com/forums/index.php

Its been done already.

They have a few pushing 385whp on stock 12.5:1 compression too.

Not trying to be an *** but the aftermarket support for the BRZ / FRS is unlike any Ive EVER seen.

Oh yea, There was one that hit 12.1 1/4 time at 120 mph this past weekend. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15998

On nitrous? They don't say how they're getting this. Supras went 10's in 1997 with nitrous before engine management caught up and then they got some real results. Nitrous is great 1/4 mile at a time, but it's of no value on a road course.

Because Audi's are cool

For me, if Audi brought over the RS4 Avant or RS6 Avant...the IS F would be gone

Like I said.

Spend some time on that forum looking at the engine mods.

There are even videos of boosted FRS running Cobb tuning reflash.

Please go look before you thrash my head off.

I know you hate being wrong.

Duh...that's what a senior moderator title does to you.

I don't know about any of the stuff you're talking about though...so no comment on my part.

I don't mind being wrong at all. It's just hard to imagine Toyota didn't force a lock down the ECM. They must have let Subaru do all the engine management if Cobb is reflashing them. Cobb said they were going to offer reflashes for the Scion tC years ago, then reneged because they were wrong about cracking it.

Kudos to the tuning community for making it happen so quickly!
