I got my windows tinted yesterday finally but when they tinted the rear window they left an untinted area in the shape of a "T" where the third brake light and directly below it where the sensor is. I could not find anything in the manual explicitly indicating what the purpose of the sensor is so I figured I'd ask in case anyone knew. I am under the assumption it is the rear headlight sensor that controls the auto dimming of our rear view mirrors. If anyone could confirm what it is it would be appreciated. I am going back to the tint place to get the bottom section tinted because it looks tacky with the untinted T in the back but I wanted to make sure it would not block the sensor if it served a more important purpose then the a rear headlight sensor. Thanks

Yeah directly under the brake light it looks like there was a sensor of some sort. It looked kind of like an RF or light sensor when I looked at it earlier. I could just be seeing things with the way my phone light was reflecting
but it looked like there was something there. I'll try to take a pic tomorrow.

The third brake light is very easy to remove. Just gently push it up from the back end. The black plastic see through piece on the bottom just covers the wiring the hole exposes. There is no sensor that I am aware of in there. I have my whole back window tinted without any cutouts you mentioned.
