New IS-F Owner Intro
Hello CL community. I've been reading a lot of your threads since I bought a used Starfire Peal 08 IS-F in Jun 12. My F had 43k when I got em. I had a Civic coupe prior to buying it. I take car of all my car and I have to admit I miss her. It's nothing like your first brand new car you buy and worked hard for it. I took care of that car like any car I buy. It went everywhere. Cali, Illinois, and even Germany. I wish I had my F when I was in Germany. I'd be tearing up the autobahn. I have a family and I got tired of two door car and end up trading in my BABY.
Before buying my IS-F, I've been looking for a car that is 4 dr, sleeper type, nice looking, little to no mod needed, and rare car. My bro-in-law has been bragging about the IS-F for the longest and Lexus reliability. My bro-in-law has USB IS-300. I didn't believe him at first until a took it for a test drive. Man oh man!!! What a great car. It's a BEAST. I was sold right away. It had everything I was looking. Sad thing is my factory warranty had expired prior to buying it but I've been talking to Jerry from midwest superstore (tnx CL members for recommending) about buying extended warranty and man he delivered. He gave me quote for another 4 yrs / 75k miles for $1765. This warranty could have easily had been $2.4k+. Good thing waited and did search on CL. I've only seen one other IS-F in Santa Barbara area. This is why I like it cuz it's rare and no one really knows about em. I see a hell of a lot more M3 in my area. I had a chance to buy a BMer but I decided not to buy cuz it's very expensive and hard to find parts and not as reliable as Lexus or Acura. I've had friends that had 335XI and their turbo always somehow goes out. I guess it was common problem for a BMer. I'm glad I waited. Looking forward of joining this great forum. GriMan out.

Welcome GriMan. I too just joined the community recently, well not really, my wife had a 2010 IS250 for 2 years. But now we have an 2011 F. I can relate to your friends 335. I had one, and I wont have another. Fuel injectors, turbos, fuel pumps and to boot, a new transmission. It is the worst car I ever owned. I've had a full lineup if BMW's, form the 323, 335, M3, 550, and an M6. The 550 was king out of them all. In fact, I was really looking to go out of the M6 back to M3 when I decided to test drive the F. Needles to say, the F suited me in more ways then a BMW could. You'll love it! I haven't looked back!!!
