Default O2 Sensor Tool

Quick Question..

Yes i have searched and found many threads on the correct tool to use. I was going to go ahead and just order a Snap-On O2 sensor removal tool since I have about 2 weeks to wait..

I have ordered my Joe Z exhaust and I will be doing the install myself with some help of some bus mechanics. They did not have the correct O2 sensor to fit the IS F.

I found a post where Joe Z said the Snap on Part number YA6675A would fit. Well they no longer carry this part number. But they have YA6675B is this the same tool?

Thanks!

Just go to autozone and get the tool. you pay for it up front then just return after install and you get your money back. no need to buy the tool unless you really have to.

I went to harbor freight and bought mine for ~$6. I picked up the deeper of the two O2 sockets they carried and it worked perfectly. It's an inexpensive tool, so I feel it's worth buying just to have on hand if you ever need to swap exhausts back out.

I rented mine as well from either Advance Auto or O'Reilly's (don't remember).

The sensor would be pretty hard to take off without a lift. I completely removed the plug to the sensor that leads all the way under the linings of the driver and passenger seat carpet. That way you would have more leverage, but if you have a lift you can probably take it off as is.

Thanks for all the quick responses. I called O'Reilly and they have the tool that will fit. I’m picking it up today on my way home from work.

Much better than using jack stands like I did!

I bought that same tool at PepBoys for like $10-$20 (I forget the price). Just hit local stores...

I used this one:
Amazon Amazon

Worked perfectly. I did my install on jack stands too. Wish I had access to a lift!
