I played with a friends 2011 Grand Sport on the highway a few weeks back. We didn't really race, but gone on it 3-4 times from about 65 mph. I was right behind him. I was pretty happy with how well the F kept up with it. It wasn't like he ran off and left me in the dust, but he was very slightly pulling. I just have deleted 2nd cats and no mufflers. Again, I was very happy, but like most people said, I wouldn't be able to beat him. Now throw some headers on....and it could be a different story.

Your car sounds throaty.
Oh yea of little faith You are right 6.2L LS3 makes 430 to wheels but don't let those numbers intimidate you a manuel GS make on average 383hp 359tq and auto make around 365hp to 375 and ISF makes on average between 350hp to 360hp so these number are pretty close and traction is also issue for them as well, but I digress, I will cover more info on this subject in next post. All number were gathered from Corvette Forums.

But of course flat out speed isn't everything, and obviously I'd rather have the IS-F.
Ok just to clarify some of info you posted Stock 2009 to 2012 GS C6 with great driver that can get traction on launch are seeing 12.2 to 12.4 good driver are see 12.6 and your average driver achiving 12.7 and up.

GS C6 with Eforce Kit from Edlebrook and tune are averaging 11.5 to 11.9 1/4m 60ft and trapping 119mph to 123mph on average

This info was gathered from Corvette Forum and DragTimes real world number from real drivers not auto rags CD,MT,RT or edmunds they are the biggest joke.

And for those that didn't know my F is not stock current mods are PPE headers, ECT High Flow cats also have custom test pipes for track days, my man JoeZ exhaust and intake, AFE air filter and ported intake manifold. So I'm not saying I can beat stock GS C6 or stock C6 but I'm pretty sure I would give them run for there money and would be very interesting race. I think it would come down four areas

1 Weight C6 wins that hands down,
2 Traction, thats close one I think the car with better tires wins this one but C6 may have advantage.
3 Gearing, that when our 8 speed trans comes into play keeping us in that sweet spot
4 Driver the most important part of car.

Some of my mods

Good deal thats what I'm saying it would be close race, not complete blow out and more so from roll but the edge would still go to C6 stock for stock but with the slightest of mods such as yours it changes the game especially up top once in the triple digits. And believe me I'm not fanboy that thinks my F is all powerful and nothing can beat my mighty steed lol far from it I love anything with wheels and motor as long as its Kool..

Ah yes, I forgot you had much done to your car.

The LSx motor makes more torque sooner than our cars.

I still say your car sounded good!!!

I hear ya! I understand that there are many cars that can keep up with and beat the F. Sometimes I hate that, but it is what it is. It sure was fun absolutely destroying Vette's in my 10 second GT-R. Most of those people with Vette's think they have the fastest car on the street. Don't get me wrong, they're fast, but when they pulled up to the light next to my GT-R (they probably had no clue what is was), they'd try to race and I'd just wave at them as I drove by. Gawd, I miss that thing!

Precisely. It takes more than any great car to be a great driver.

Since we're on the topic of Vettes - Z06's are quick... me and my friend's C5 went about 4 times from a roll from different speeds and he was ahead each time, both cars bone stock. Only thing is he would refuse to continue accelerating even on a slight turn. He told me every time he shifted the steering wheel would jerk. That sucks.

Well let me chime in,I am a vette guy had 2 a c6 ls2 and a grandsport and I'll drive my cousin's
c6 z06 when he wanted to drive my ex maserati lol,the automatic grandsport i had dynoed 380 whp stock on a mustang dyno, yes is way lighter than our isf's but our cars can keep up very well actually a fully bolt on isf vs grandsport would be tough call....and the vette being automatic our f's can do some damage since the auto tranny sucks on this cars...I also think that our 5.0 holds nitrous way more than a vette

Hey JC23 thanks for your input coming from fomer vette owner with real world experence is helpful. A fully modded ISF from roll may stand very good chance against stock GS Vette. When the two of us first took off on highway before we hit any traffic he was getting on it hard, yet was never able to pull away from me. So my F had slighty more HP his GS C6 lighter weight, ISF better gearing and trans vs GS auto trans and manuel so starts to become drivers race. Like stated earlier not bad for 3800llb luxuary sport sadan the fact it can keep up with purpose built 6L V8 sport coupe is not bad.

now looking at all the mods your F has you could've given that c6 gs a tough one and if it was automatic then I really think he wouldnt pull from ya til really high speeds since better aero and lots of less weight if it was a convertible then no ..stock vs stock they only got the weight difference on us,but no doubt you can beat a stock c6 with ls2 powerplant....aaahh your F is nice
