Exhaust build
So i'm in the middle of putting together my exhaust. Does anyone know if the HKS SSM's rear section will bolt up with Borla's mid pipe. Apparently, HKS no longer makes a mid pipe (but they still make the rear section +Y pipe) for this car so I have to resort to a mix and match combo.

Borla makes a mid pipe I thought they only made a cat back dual system or an axle back system that bolts up to the stock mid pipe.

Well, unless I'm off base here but I simply was going to purchase the Borla section which starts after their axle back setup. I think they call it the X pipe. I haven't checked if they will sell it seperately though.

I can't resist how the HKS sounds, plus there's zero drone.
Honestly, I feel like the OEM exhaust drones at 2000rpm. If the Borla "droned" the same amount I would just buy the Borla. But the reviews suggest that the HKS has no drone.
Any opinions ?

Supposedly VIP has the center section (mid pipe):

However, some of the folks here think they are flakey.
However, if this is the route you want to follow, why not create your own mid pipe? You could use the stock mid pipe and retain the cats, or not, and the resonator, or not. Or create you own mid pipe. Any exhaust shop with the ability to bend with mandrel bends should be able to help. The HKS rear section should also bolt right up to the stock mid pipe with no changes. But, as I have posted earlier, the Borla cat back is a dual system and will not bolt up to the HKS rear section.

When you say that the HKS screams, do you not like that? Obviously it's a unique sound.

I'm in talks with him, he does not have the midpipe. He was the one told me that HKS Japan discontinued them. I still don't get why when they produce the axle back setup.
