Default BMW 335I or Lexus ISF ?

Hi guys new to the forum so pardon any mistakes lo anyways I have recently been thinking about trading in my is250 for an isf. I love the way the isf looks and drives its a very powerful car. Now Ive been hearing a lot of the BMW 335i my basic question is which one is the better , faster car ? What upgrades are available to each ? I'm pretty Lost right now so any help will be greatly appreciated.

lol. im not biased like everyone on every bmw forums where they write paragraphs why their car is better then every other car, but cmon, is this even a serious question? ive seen crazy torque gains on the 335i modded but the isf is just the better car.

Honestly the 335i is the worst car BMW ever made, no joke. I remember when my friend went to test drive a 335i and the fuel pump went out on the test drive... If you go the Bimmer route at least get the M3.

lets not even talk about the other problems and turbos and stuff. OP, just go over to the bimmer forums and read up on the problems in the 135 and 335i and you will make your decision.

If you're getting a brand new 335I that's ok. But if you're buying a brand new IS-F just wait for the 2014. I've seen the new IS on the freeway 405...of course all covered in black. =) I do have the pics though.

By The Way... moot point. can't compare a 335I to an IS-F.

Welcome to CL! Obviously because you're posting this in the ISF forum, we would recommend the ISF hah.

Based on facts though, we would still recommend the F because 1. Reliability! The 335i is a good car but I know a lot of people who have constant problems with it. Lexus/Toyota has a stellar reputation for reliability that is second to none. You will spend less time at the shop and more time on the road with an F. 2. The F is faster by a long shot, even the IS350 would give the 335i a good run. They say a simple ECU flash would put the bimmer on par with the M3's performance but you would be compromising an already sketchy reliability even more. 3. The F is overall much better. Better interior, better looking, and faster right out the box. You hardly need to worry about maintenance other than the expected oil changes, brake pads, and tires. Even then it is cheaper overall.

As for upgrades, there's your basic intake, header, and exhaust and not much else other than suspension and aesthetic mods. Not as many options as other cars, but with those 3 basic mods you would make over 400 HP to the rear wheels, and you would have yourself a potential 11 second car. Not bad if you ask anyone!

Trust me, you can't go wrong with another Lexus. The F is the way to go!

That's good to hear my friend! USB is a real looker on the road so start preparing for a lot of attention heading your way!

There's still some development on more extreme mods like superchargers and even a twin turbo system, although the TT setup had a lot of flaws due to he fact that our ECUs are locked up tighter than Fort Knox. Any tuning is near impossible without a decent piggy back. If you stick around, I'm pretty sure there will be a break through soon.

There's already a handful of guys here who have NO2 setups. If you do a quick search you can pull up some good threads about that.

get the F, we have both cars and the v8 of the F is too godly. you won't regret, yet the 335i can be faster with simple tunes and bolt ons, and it does sound nice with all that turbo spool but F all day.
