very nice!

Although this is reason for concern..."A successor to the M3-challenging, 417bhp IS-F isn't completely ruled out, but unlikely in the current climate, say insiders."

Maybe it kicks your 2008's *** on all accounts but not my 2011. And a v8 that doesn't grunt is a v8 that doesn't sound good. Agree to disagree.

I hope they keep the V8 and make it 6.0. So it has no problem with a V6TT M3.

The only difference between a 2008 and a 2011 is the rear differential and the display cluster. I don't think either is doing much for performance. Now the VR38DETT in the GTR just eats the M3 engine.

Also disagree. So do the M3 forum members on daily drivability...

A 2011+ ISF is ideal. With the added Torsen LSD, nifty LED headlights, improved suspension, and the updated gauges it's a fantastic car!
What about the 08-10 IS-F's? Are they slower and uglier? LOL

Too funny. I was JUST talking with my buddy about this for over half an hour yesterday, and minutes after we got off the phone insane this thread.

He has an M3 and I've had my eye on getting an F for years. I was tempted to wait but he also said exactly what's been repeated in this thread. Pending a bit more negotiation, I should be FINALLY picking up my new 2012 F in a few days. Let's see how it turns out.. :/

You forgot the upgraded suspension, which saves a few seconds and puts it on par with the m3 around the track.

Are you serious? How do you not know the rear differential isn't the only upgrade? What about the completely rebuilt suspension and the recalibrated electric steering for the 2011+'s? Are you suggesting this doesn't impact the car's driving dynamics (even dramatically at the limit)? Also, don't you think the revised accompaniments (display cluster, infotronics, LED DRL's, and seating materials) add to the overall experience and satisfaction of ownership? If you don't believe me, go read all the 2011+ reviews (there are lots of them at this point) where professional automotive journalists essentially put the two cars on par with each other from a performance stance. Carlos Lago, in reference to the 2012 model, put it best when he said, "I don't envy the person who has to choose between this, the C63 or the M3".

Like I said, agree to disagree. But I know enough to know the M3 isn't going to "easily" kick my 2011's *** as you naively suggest. I don't like the sound of the M3 engine - especially compared to the 4000+rpm grunt of the IS F. Add the M performance exhaust and it's a different story -- but that's not factory stock.

Drove 3 hours to pick it up yesterday afternoon!!!

Broke my heart to put 290 miles on it the day I got it just driving back home, but it was SUCH A FREAKING PLEASURE driving it that I'm quite over it. I can't get over the amazing balance between luxury/comfort/everything-I've-always-wanted and BADASSNESS.

BEST feeling walking to my car every time, internally repeating "Yea, THAT's mine"

Haven't seen you in a while!! Took a few years but this amazingness was worth the wait. Now that makes two of us USB's in South Florida (that I know of )

I'll post a build thread when I get some time this weekend.

Final consensus: DO NOT WAIT ANOTHER 2+ YEARS FOR A NEXT GEN IS F
