I know there has been a lot of talk about the engine for the next gen IS-F and I was wondering if any of you would actually not consider purchasing the 3g IS-F if it were to be a turbo engine rather than a 5.0 v-8?
Personally, I think it's going to be a turbo engine as pretty much every manufacturer is going the turbo route for their regular car models as well as their performance models. All M cars are now turbo engines (to be included is upcoming M3/M4 and not current M3.) I believe all AMG cars are turbo except SLS and C63. I believe it's only a matter of time before Toyota brings back turbos into their cars. It's not like turbos are foreign to them. They've done it with the MR2 Turbo, Supra Seq Tiwn Turbo, and I believe the Celica All-Trac was a turbo. Considering that they also partnered with BMW to share some tech, I'd hope that they get some turbo technology in exchange for their hybrid technology.
I'd like to see a 4.0 v-6 seq twin turbo under the hood of the next IS-F co-developed with Yamaha. Unfortunately, I think the 5.0 beast is going the way of the doodoo bird simply because it's not fuel efficient and with tighter CAFE standards coming online in the next few years, Toyota will not want an image of being a gas guzzler when other car manufacturers are making hp gains with turbos and still returning relatively ok gas mileage (for a tuned sports vehicle.)

I'd be perfectly happy with a 5.0 that's force fed. If the AMG is a FI 5.5, why not the F? For once, I wish Lexus would blow the doors off the C and 3. Actually, when I first got my F, the 3 was 333 hp and the C was just a C55.. but that was short lived.
