Default Oil Temp Gauge

Just took my F to the track this morning...had a great time! I did see my oil temp gauge climb and was wondering if anyone knew what temp each bar represents. Under normal driving the gauge reads at 3 bars which im assuming is about 220 (total guess). At the track i saw 5 bars for sure and i think 6 before i started my cool down. Any help would be great thanks!

Wow 5 bars, ive had my car on the track but most it ever got to is 3 bars. Also take into consideration that I was draging and i'm up in Canada. I think 5 bars would scare me as it takes a while for my car to get to three.

I've seen 5 bars with spirted driving on 80 degree days in Tx. I could totally imagine hitting 6 for a little bit on a track while keeping the revs elevated.

I've seen 6 bars at a track day with 102F OAT. Here's how the gauge indicates.

FWIW, these pics are from the 60k mile valve lash inspection. Zero evidence of varnish from oil too hot here.

^^This is exactly what i was looking for, thanks! But just to clarify the chart...the arrow that points to the right and then up is showing the temp at which the bar will become illuminated. And the arrow that points to the left and down is when the bar will turn off, correct? So for example the 6th bar won't illuminate until engine oil has reached 266, right?

thanks in advance!

does the engine ever get damaged if you pass a certain number of bars?

The 2011+ cluster has nine bars for oil and water temp. My normal driving is usually four bars for oil and five bars for water. Anyone know what the new temp/bar graph is?

This is all Lexus says about it:

Voltage measured at this point will vary as the engine temperature is changed.

The engine oil temperature gauge displays the engine oil temperature using seven bars. The meter CPU calculates the engine oil temperature based on signals from the engine oil temperature sensor via the direct line. When the engine oil temperature becomes 140°C (284°F) or higher, all the bars blink and the warning message is displayed in the multi-information display.
