How Bad is a full differential pumpkin install?
Say I want to replace the whole diff assembly on my IS-F with another one.
It would be a straight pumpkin swap....
Any thing different from any other IRS pumpkin swap? Any "gotcha's / caveats" I should be aware about?

Lexus Champion
if it's like any other diff...it's disconnect the axles, then center drive shaft, then unbolt the diff from the subframe.
the hard part i think is just handling the thing because they're usually heavy little fother muckers

Thanks guys!
Obby, did you do it on a lift, or just jackstands in your garge?
The manual I have is telling me to basically separate the whole rear suspension from the car....Im thinking I just need to remove rear section of the exhaust and maybe two braces and thats it, in order to get the axles out and drop the diff.

Another question..I forgot that this car doesn't have flanges that separate from the diff.
I noticed in two threads here, that the installs look a bit different.
Member "Figs" took apart the whole rear suspension, while the other picture from Japan, it looks like they just lowered it down until they could pry the halfshafts out.
May I ask exactly how you guys went about this?

Thank you for the responses guys!
Obby, are you referring to the snap ring on the end of the half shaft (that is in the groove), or are you referring to the big lock rings that are behind the rubber seals on the sides of the differential? Also, any more pictures you can share?
Thank you again for your input guys! Have a great Thanksgiving!
