That is the adjustment ball joints, i replaced it because of adjusting cambers, the quality is the same as stock. If you have it to put on make sure to torque enough.

You have pics of the 2010/2011 wheels right? They are exactly the same specs as the 2008/2009 wheels, only a different style. The same tires will fit the same on both wheels. You can fit wider tires on the 2012+ rims as they are .5" wider front and rear.

Hey shyguy - Did you have to roll your rear fenders on this setup? I like those rims! Thanks for posting the pics.

Right now i still have a finger gap, it slightly rub when it is over dip bump, but it is OK to me so far and i don't want to roll my fender . Oh i forgot i'm talking about the rear, the front is fine.

How is it, that many of you put 285s in the back on the factory rim?
The widest recommended size is 275. The rim is according to the tire manufacturer too
narrow.

you know why rossi:
275/30r19 is 13.5mm shorter than the stock od
275/35r19 is 14mm taller than the the stock od
285/30r19 is very close and 295/30r19 is almost close to the stock od.

I get that the OD size.
But I do not get the tire width fittment on a too small of the rim.

^^^^Yes, we all know about the manufacturer's recommendations. I've been running 285s on the rear for better than two years now, with absolutely no adverse effects. When I first did it with the Continental DW, I test fitted it first and all was well, the Bridgestone S-04 that I now have, has a slight bulge, as you can see from the pics in the thread that I posted on the prior page. That bulge is only caused by the sidewall being stiffer on the S-04, not by extra width. The tread area is firmly planted and the treadwear is even from side to side. The traction and handling is, much improved over the stock sizes (I also have an F-Sport rear sway bar). And as shyguyF has said I wanted to maintain an OD that was as close to stock as possible. On another front, I also looked at load carrying capacity, I wanted that to be the same as stock or higher. With the 245/35 in front, I was able to maintain the same stock load carrying capacity as the stock 225/40. With the 285/30 in back I was able to increase it slightly from a 96Y (of the stock 255/35) to a 98Y. Note the 275/30 is a 96Y load rated tire. And with the 245/35, 285/30 combo I was able to keep the same front to rear height ratio height ratio as stock. Also, IMHO, the 275/30 has just bit too small side wall height. Also, again IMO, I just don't like the slightly stretched look of the stock sized tires. And, I luv the meaty look the wider tires give when viewed from the rear

Would I rather have wider wheels, I sure would, the wheels from the 2012 F are .5" wider front and rear, those would be perfect. However, the stock BBS wheels on my '08 and a quality forged wheel and I like 'em, so I'll keep 'em.

That was my thinking process. I hope I cleared things up for you as to why I did what I did.

BTW, in another life, about 45 years ago, I had a part time job managing a Firestone tire shop. The knowledge that I gained during that time has stayed with me.

Oh, and this mod is completely legal in California

Lou

Is there anyone out there with a photo of 245/40/19 and 275/35/19.
I would like to see how tall the tires look in this size on the ISF.
Thank you in advance.
