I had the TSB done and the new set squeals much more than the old set. Dunno if it was even worth it.

It doesn't have as much bite as the stock or project Mu pads but doesn't dust as much IMO.

Stoptech pads are very popular like Hawk, Axxis, stock Brembo and others.. very affordable and of high quality.

I've got a set of Wearever pads sitting in my garage just waiting for my OEMs to run out. I bought them because of the reviews on here about them having much, much lower dusting. They don't grab as hard as OEM, but the only time that is an issue (so I've read) is if you're threshold braking or tracking the car. I figure for $75 it was worth a shot.

Yep +2 for Wearever pads, have them sitting in my closet. They will go in when I need replacements. 7mm is good thickness for brakes, you have a while to go.

^^Thanks for letting me know that 7mm is a good thing.

So the squealing is being caused by the pads? If so, I might just get some new pads then. PMU? Stoptech?

I'll go to the dealer to see if I can get the current pads replaced first tho.

^ do all of them squeal? Have you inspected the pads to see if there is any debris stuck in there?

If not then its like what everybody already stated

If your F is under factory warranty they should not give you any issues when taking it in for squeaking brakes. They should replace it with no questions asked. I'm friends with a service advisor and I believe if your pads are 5mm and under they won't replace them.

I have a 2011 and they started squeaking within the first 1000 miles. Had the brake pads replaced under the TSB and the new ones squeaked twice as much about 10 miles after leaving the service center. I bedded the brakes under heavy braking and it helped some. Then I searched on the forum and did additional "bedding" for the rears by while putting just the rear on jack stands. It helped significantly and only get squeaking once in a while. I'll be replacing to wearevers soon.

Inspect first. Take a look at the pads through the rims. Is there meat left on there? Next look at you rotors, do they seem glazed? If both of those look good, then either some debris stuck in pad or they just squeel. I had an 06 Charger SRT8 and they came with brembo brakes, they never squeeled. My M3 didnt squeel and my ISF doesnt squeel and still have the stock pads. Even though they are going to need to be replaced soon....

I'm using stoptech pads as well and they have little to no brake dust and are perfect for daily driving.

I was just reading through the IS-F Brake Thread and one of the posts stated that the OEM rotors needed to be replaced around 27mm or so. Like I said in one of my previous posts, according to the service records my rotors are at 7mm as of 9/7. That seems pretty bad to me... Am I missing something?

^ lol those are your pad measurements. If your rotor was that thin it'd crumble away on one brake

HA! That's what I thought but whoever wrote that post said rotors instead of pads.

So what's the minimum thickness for rotors?

[I'm really not as much of a NOOB as this thread is portraying, but this is my first high-performance car so I want to make sure I know what the hell I'm doing.]
