RPM's jump when switching to Park?
Hello again guys. Sorry for all the questions but i have been experiencing issues with my new 2012 ISF, and am wanting to get all the facts on what is normal and what isn't before bringing the car into the dealership on Monday. Anyways one other thing i wanted to ask ya'll is if your car's RPM's jump when you are switching over from Drive to Park? I'm already experiencing issues related to the RPM's jumping several hundred RPM's while slowing to a stop (even in Auto Mode). I don't have any videos of that since I'm driving while it happens, but i do have these videos which i posted relating to a clunking noise I'm hearing when turning of the car, but they also show how the car's RPM's jump when putting the car into park. It's not as huge as a jump in RPM's as when I'm driving in Auto and the car shifts to first, but I was hoping you guys could check them out and again help out in telling whether this is normal? Thanks again everybody!

Looks pretty normal to me buddy, almost all automatics behave the same way.
From your description about the RPMs jumping while slowing to a stop, it is normal for it to jump several hundred RPMs even with automatic downshifting. It's just the nature of automatic transmissions.
If you want to remedy this before going to the dealership with your other concerns, try resetting the ECU. Unhook the negative terminal on the battery and hold down the brake pedal for a short while until all the lights on the dash dim out. There's another method that involves pulling a couple fuses but I can't remember the exact ones off the top of my head.

Mine has the noise as well. It appears to be from the bottom of the car, but if you open the hood and have someone turn the car off you'll clearly hear it coming from the intake flap.
In my car if my AC and headlights are off and in drive, the car idles at what I believe to be 600 RPM, since the needle is a bit after the middle. If I turn the headlights, AC on or put it in park, the RPMs jump to 800 or closer to 1000 RPMs.

You're joking right? My RPMs jump more when I fart. It's just that going into park relieves the load of the transmission/torque converter from the motor so RPMs raise. You are being WAY too picky/conscious of the car operations, Now go DRIVE it!

OK thanks for all the help everyone, no need for all the criticism I was just wondering due to the fact that my previous vehicles didn't do that so I was checking to see if it was normal; And i was already taking it in for the 1,000 miles check up so i wanted to know whether i should bring this up or not. Thanks again.
