last year I was playing this game and ended up getting my new 2011 on 1 Jan 2012 for 57250. I used auto trader and emailed just about every dealer within 500 miles to see about getting the best price. The whole process took over 4 months but it was worth it.

^^^ you only get charged 3% tax??? for anyone I know that got $56-57k range, tax was 6-7%.
12 of one, half a dozen of the other. end of the day, $61k OUT THE DOOR AFTER ALL TAXES AND FEES is phenomenal and where all of us with higher taxes ended up, even given the lower negotiated pre-tax price.
I'm one who would've originally told you to tell them to go shove it by simply looking at the $59.5k, but get them down to $61k-flat out the door and you're golden.

@LO 21: the 3% sales tax is from north carolina and i'm still trying to get the dealership to go down to $60,500 out the door plus i still gotta have the car shipped here to new jersey
quick question to anyone that might know..would i still have to pay the difference in sales tax for new jersey (7%) when i get the title/registration?

This makes me very thankful for the deal I got when I bought my 2008 ISF new in mid 2009. Best factory to dealer incentives ever plus a willing dealer and a salesmen who I know...I ended up getting over 13k off of the 61k MSRP.
