So QUICKEST (time) throttle response is PURPLE. Most output vs throttle position is RED.
I've tried this a million times, purple hits HARDER AND KCKS DOWN MORE GEARS IN auto than RED mode.

Try, you'll see

Remember stay OFF THE WOT SWITCH!(wot activation causes throttle to revert to NORMAL BRHAVIOR) you hit WOT and you might as well not even have this. It's right there in the English documentation. (Wot activation causes mean reversion until wot is released)
Interesting. I have always used Red mode thinking that was the most beneficial. Ill try Purple on the way home from work today and see how it feels. Thanks!

So glad you posted this as i was going to ask others opinion. I initally thought red was the way to go. Its the meanest colour, last in the cycle of pressing the button etc but as you say, one is throttle, the other boost.
Another guy on the UK thread i found said the same. I think both red and purple are great. He was more critical and though red was average however he also said purple was crazy acceleration response and i agree.

Really transforms the car. Its just instant pickup regardless what speed or gear its in. You definitely notice it doesnt change to the higher gears as often, keeping it in the sweet spot.

I know may be a silly quesiton, but if you drive like a manual or with paddles, it would have little effect or am i wrong. Assuming it makes the auto box, gearing etc more agressive???

I'm glad this thread popped up too. A little ashamed I didn't pay more attention to the curves presented within red / purple. Nice.

Tested tonight. I'm a bit concerned with the amount of work the purple causes on the trans.

This thread is right on the money with the differences. However with the curve this high, it causes a double down (4th gear from 6th for example) every time I "slow and go" in traffic in auto at minimal push of the pedal. It just doesn't feel natural. My thoughts. This occurs in auto mode only.

If you are in slow and go traffic as you say, may I recommend Yellow mode.
It's like Purple Mode but MELLOWER. Tad bit less aggressive and just a bit slower to kick the tranny down in gears. Remember the big Benefit you gain is having the tranny select the best gear sooner by making multiple gear changes with one input . Heck I even get 8-3rd shift when I'm just cruising ang then hit it in purple mode. Agree the tranny is working harder to be in the correct gear all the time and hold correct gear longer before jumping up to the gears that maximize fuel economy. Vs performance.
It's how all good performance autos work. Multiple kick down at once to near instantly find the lowest gear to accelerate with.

I really only actively use these three modes.

Auto - purple for max performance for throttle response and tranny down shifting gears. Yellow when I want the same behavior in auto but smoother and less agessive.

Manual - This is where you actually want to use Red mode because it boosts throttle response (makes it more sensitive)

And remember , SPORT MODE plus ANY throttle response mode takes it to a WHOLE other level.

Car is awake and ready and willing in all of these modes.

These are just suggested usage patterns based on driving application.

I may have to try one of these out.. I avoid driving in automatic mode because the transmission is always in such a hurry to upshift all the way to 8th at slow to moderate speeds. If this helps with that, I'm very interested.

You'll be how to say....

Pleasantly surprised.

And simultaneously dismayed with your gas mileage
