How can using a desktop be too much work? It's more of a PIA to use an iPhone to browse the forums than anything!

Unless you're cell phone is a Samsung Galaxy Note or something, and even then it' would still be a PIA

Convenience. It's much easier to pull out the iPhone than walk up upstairs and log on. I don't have any issue browsing using the phone. It's no different than using the desk top.

Usually my college laptop (yes I'm still in college--but, on a full scholarship)
Thus, ownership, or rather proprietorship of the ISF is justified!

Timabaland bought his 16 year old son a Lambo - a $63k ISF is nothing for rich parents... it is what it is

I beg to differ, when I have kids I wouldn't buy them cars ever.....to teach them the value of money. They can work hard and get it on their own, like I did.

I know, WTF....why didn't you make your parents buy you anything?

True....but even if I had that kind of money, I'd rather put it towards property, fixing up the house, or invest it.....not buy my kids a car

I agree! but completely depends on the kids.
not EVERYTHING has to be taught through experience, it can be understood if the person is competent enough.
and hard work is always merited, that's what i believe in. but are you saying that the definition of 'hard work' is to work a paying job?
I didn't have to take pay $150,000 for college, not to mention added interest from loans. it's a bit ignorant and simple-minded to say that the only way to understand the value of money is to work a labor-intensive job for an extended period of time. I worked myself in school, just like people work jobs, and achieved a dream.
I think a $35k ISF is a fair gift of merit!

so in other words, if a kid isn't mature enough to understand the value of money, he shouldn't be "given" anything. but who said there's only one fixed way of growing or knowing, right?

before my comment gets deleted, lets get back into the topic! (had to defend myself against the likes of VJ)...
