Rattle, maybe linked to JOE Z exhaust..
Getting progressively louder, worse with part throttle situations. From the drivers seat it sounds like its right behind my right ear, under the car. Passengers confirm, its in the back, coming from the drivers rear.
I put the car on the lift and pulled 5-7 rocks out from behind the various exhaust heat shields. The sound is slightly improved but still present. Do most people pull all of these heat shields off? It seems like they rattle to an extent?

FYI for All...
So it’s NOT the aftermarket headers???
Honestly, you have a FULLY modified exhaust from front to back...
I'm not sure how the rattle can be maybe linked to just the exhaust...
Especially if you are pulling rocks out of various exhaust shields.
If you put the car on the lift and the exhaust isn't rattling onto something, that it’s not the exhaust..
Try going through the cars interior and remove all loose change and other things that may cause interior rattle..
Also, some of those oem exhuast shields can be rebent into better positions..

I suspected you would get a little sensitive with the question... this is why I put maybe
My question was on installation of the exhaust do any of the flimsy heat shields get removed routinely?
The rattle is not coming from anything in front of the headers. I realize the headers increase the exhaust volume and resonance which may make things vibrate... but this is different then that.
Yes, I pulled rocks out from behind the exhaust shields, again this did not completely solve the problem.
FYI, I've put about 22k miles on the full exhaust setup.

But I'm here to help either way.. & 22K miles is a good amount of miles..!!
So if things are starting to rattle now, yes you can tighten and reshape some of those OEM shields... Especially the flimsy ones (which are never removed)
The shields over the mufflers can attract rocks as well.... Another thing I cleaned out the other day was the plastic cover/diffuser under the spare tire compartment...
That thing was loaded with sand, rocks & leaves...

I didn't remove any heat shields when the Joe Z exhaust was installed on my car. I have no rattling at all. The stock OEM diffuser under the spare tire does collect a lot of debris from the road. I noticed that when I took it off too. I don't think it would rattle though due to the debris but maybe if it's loose.

I have the muffler/2nd cat delete but I had to bend my heat shield because the straight pipes were hitting the back of the heat shield. Jiggle the joe-z muffler and if it's hitting the back of the heat shield, you could either bend the heat shield down or joe-z probably has a fix.
