Finally decided to mod the F and I pulled the trigger on a Borla cat back exhaust which I got user from a member here. Had it installed this morning and what a difference. It has perfect deep rumble sound without being to loud cause I am approaching 40 and I am def not Fast and not as Furious as I once was. Joe Z and ISS sound fantastic but a little loud for me and had to compromise with the new bride on how loud car would be. Those of u married will understand and those of u single will understand one dayThanks for all those who helped me out with my exhaust questions, next up will be an intake

That's great to hear! I just installed a Joe Z exhaust myself and it sounds real deep at just the perfect loudness. It definitely makes my F's presence known. Enjoy!

glad to hear you're enjoying the borla. after about 7 months of having it on, i have noticed more vibrating coming from various areas in the cabin, mainly the rear view mirror and the glove box area, i think.

also, on mine, one of the rear mufflers started to vibrate against the rear diffuser after running the car hard and the exhaust got hot/expanded. so, some adjustment needed to be made. i'm also in the same boat as you, approaching 40, wife would kill me if the F was as loud or louder than my previous car. haha

I missed buying SargeISF's intake he was selling for a great price so I will keep my eye on the classifieds. I didn't post any pics or audio clips cause I figured most people know what a Borla exhaust looks like and trying to capture audio on an iPhone is useless

With the addition of an aftermarket exhaust on the F it's imperative that any and all things that lay around be secured as they will vibrate. I can honestly say the only thing in my car that vibrates once in a while is the rear ashtray. (The one under the center console armrest.) I have it stuffed with a foam piece, which has all but eliminated the vibration but it rears it's ugly head once in a while.

I'm a few years away from hitting the big 40 myself, married with 2 young kids and can sympathize with you all, which is why I've ended up with the Borla exhaust myself. From what I have experience personally it's the most tolerable of all the full exhausts available for the F, with or without headers. I can easily drive around in either manual or auto mode without sound annoyance.

Also for those of you with the Borla exhaust and have found that it is making contact with the rear diffusers. The easy fix is to adjust the exhaust by ensuring the slip fittings are all seated firmly. When I first installed mine, I had the same problem and like to warn others about it so they only have to install it once and be done with it. Other than that, the exhaust has been treating me very well on the strip, the track and on the road.
