Mr.Slay's 2UR-GSE Build Thread
As many of you know, im on a quest for some serious power. Im going to leave some teaser pics today and answer some questions tomorrow. Ill make a build thread at a later date to keep everyone informed.
EDIT: So the plan is to build the 2UR-GSE to safely hold somewhere in the 1300-1400hp range. Its going to take a long time going through the R&D, but im very sure its going to be worth it if its possible. Within the next few days/weeks I should be finding out realistic my goals are and will be making a decision after that information is available. Making the power is pretty much going to be coming down to tuning, which shouldn't be a problem for the route im going. I dont mean to start a big discussion by saying this, but im going a far different route that those who have attempted to tune the car before me. Worse case scenario, the car is going to have a 2UR-GSE built for my nitrous demands....
p.s. I see that everyone missed the writing above the picture that says "Just a backup plan" lol. Putting a 2JZ in the car is just a backup plan for making the power im looking for. Hopefully I wont need to use it and its going to go into my Nissan project.
Thanks for the good energy guys.
Just the backup plan
2.6.13 Update
Motor is apart, separated into sections, and everything is stored in bins. It looks like my route towards tuning the car is going to work!!!
Going to be setting up a meeting to take the block to a very well known engine builder/machine shop (no names for now) to go over the power capabilities of the setup.
Heads and Studs before they go into their bins for storage. Going to sending out the studs to get custom ones made sooner or later.

Update 3.11.13
So I took the rest of the motor to the engine builder today as it was time to begin the build. Below is an incomplete parts list.
As of now, im not going to be going for the turbo setup with my ISF. Ive made this decision mainly on the presumed regret of Frankensteining my 70k Lexus. The engine is still being built to handle the 1500hp goal, but just wont see it for a few years. Close to the end of the 2URGSE build we will start the 2JZ work for my Tx2k 240sx Setup. Regardless of the change in direction, the car will definitely improve on every straight line ISF record.

- Carrillo Custom H-Beam/WMC Bolt

UPDATE 6.19.13
So with the F gone, the motor is going to be put into an S14 chassis. Its going to be controlled fully standalone ECU and will no longer front the direct injection setup that came from the factory. Going to for a turbo setup to make real big power. Ill update again soon letting everyone know about the work were doing on the head.
UPDATE 8.9.13
Sleeving Done / Internals have arrived
Things are finally coming together for my little project. Justice Race Engines just finished installing the Darton Sleeves so the block will be heading back south sometime next week. Quality and workmanship should be top notch as Justice comes highly recommended. Im going to post up pics of the block with the new sleeves when it gets back in.
Custom Carrillo Rods- Weigh 534 Grams
OEM Rods- 626 Grams
Custom CP Pistons with all the bells and whistles
-Weigh slightly more than OEM
OEM Piston- 387 Grams
OEM Wrist Pin- 107 Grams
New Wrist Pin- 101 Grams " Lighter and Thicker"
Block Boring ( Darton MID Sleeves)
Block Honing ( Darton MID Sleeves)
Block Decking
Bottom End Done

Agreed! I am interested in this build for the sheer frankenstein quality of it all, but 2JZ swaps in Lexuses have been done with many an IS, SC, and GS. Yes, you'll be the first that I've ever seen do it in an ISF and it'd be awesome to see don't get me wrong, but if you built the V8 and made some serious power with it, THAT'd be amazing. I want to see someone really tap in to the 2UR-GSE!!
