I would wait for your mods to come in. It doesn't make much sense racing a stock car vs a modified one.

What exactly are his mods?

I have a friend out here in KY that has a modified 135i (meth, race gas, turbo back exhaust, FMIC, etc) and he kicks my @$$ every time. Haven't run him since I tossed the headers on, but his times at the track are 11.9 @ 117mph and he puts down 433hp/473tq . We do a few pulls after each mod I do to gauge how my car has changed with the additions. It might be fun to run him now, then do a rematch with each mod you toss on there.

i only want to try to see if the f in stock version can take on him i think he has exhaust and reprogramed ecu i know if he keeps moding the car ill have no chance because his ride the modding options are kind of endless , he is turbo and lightweight and i dont plan of spraying this car but as we stand right now i think i can take on him or try and then mod and try to see my gains, will race this week and let you guys know

If he threw on a JB4, that alone does an amazing job on those engines. I had a 335, and its night and day stock vs with a JB4. Talk about putting a smile on your face. Being lighter than our F's, properly spooled, AND IF HE CAN KEEP THAT DANG THING ON THE GROUND he will walk away. Just run him and you'll see for yourself
Having said that, those cars are very touchy, injectors, turbos and fuel pumps suck. Main reason I walked away from it. Didn't feel comfortable with the thing, and its a true example of the statement "Pay to Play". The smiles are often short lived.

Yeah, it'd be a close race. I went 12.89 in my 335i with no mods except a turbo tuner (which was like a weaker version of the JB4). If you stay stock you'll pull on him the higher the speeds get, but I expect him to hang right there with you til 100mph. You should beat him if you're getting headers and an exhaust.

Hit nail on head. I had a 335i with DCI and JB3 on map 5 was trapping around 110-111. It's a beast down low with all that torque, but when the speeds go triple digits, the 135i will run out of breath. Roll from 60-130 and you'll probably take him. The F pulls HARD up top.

race him stock - but be prepared. 1/4 tank of fuel, remove spare and jack and tools, run 40 psi, manual shifting - you can leave traction control on because from a roll, you won't spin. And last thing - don't shift at the "BEEP", shift at redline. Redline comes quick in first and second gear but in 3rd and 4th gears, redline is quite a bit later than the "BEEP". Just these things will help about 2 mph by the time you reach 5th gear. Oh, one last thing - don't let him get the jump. It's totally a drivers race and whomever gets the jump will win.

Yep, that was the first major difference I noticed after getting my ISF. It felt very similar to the 335i w/ tuner down low and up to 60-70mph. A "tuned" 335i (or 135) is no slouch. But at higher speeds, you can feel the 335i getting weaker, whereas I still haven't found out at what speed the ISF stops pulling. I mean, the car feels like there's no end in sight, it just pulls and pulls until you run out of road or lose your nerve.

The F pulls very well all the way to the governor at 172. I was actually quite shocked at how much it was pulling up top. I know I always mention my GT-R, but we tend to compare to what we've experienced. The GT-R was putting down just over 500awhp and I felt like the F pulled better up top. I only ever took it to 163, but it felt like it was losing breath past 150 or so. This seems to be typical with turbo'ed cars (at least what I've experienced), but down low they are beastly. With the times that the 135i is getting, I'd guess he's probably around 400hp at the crank, but his torque may actually be higher IIRC. Again, go from a roll. From a stop, it's really just who gets off the line better. I ran a SS Camaro a few weeks back from a dig, and while he was spinning, I jumped about a car and a half and it stayed that way to 4 gear. He said he had an intake, so he was close to 435-440hp. A few weeks before that, I ran a friend in a new Mustang and actually pulled him a bit, but he had a passenger and a manual. That same Mustang said he beat an R8 a few days ago. The F is no slouch!

this in deed my friends i found it to be a great thread!!! I agree with you all, ithink the real amgic on the f is more in the tranny that anything else , I used to have a 650whp 3000lbs w me wrx /sti and from the dig and low gears it was a beast it pulled anever stoped pulling , but this car is impresive on the high end and i love it ,

this is the plan

low fuel like 1/4
100 octane
no spare
no jack
no tools
no bull im a old dog in this ill try to steal the shot ,no backing down of course it will be 60 to 65 and up!!!

No need for 100 octane. Don't do 65 - you'll be in the very very beginning of 3rd gear where we have no torque and he'll be in the mid 2nd gear. Start at 45 mph or 75 mph.
