I tried searching and couldn't come up with an explanation why our cars make the "wooshing/blow off valve/air pass" sound when we rev the car. This only happens on cars that are equipped with an exhaust btw. My stock ISF doesn't make it but I'm really curious as to what makes that sound. I haven't heard any other car that does it with a stock exhaust.

Any ideas?

I hear it more prominently when headers are installed. It's probably the sound of the exhaust gasses rushing out with less restriction.

Then all cars would have the sound if that was the case. But just an exhaust/no headers will start making that sound. There must be more to this.

I know exactly what you are talking about. My car makes that sound and someone actually asked me if it was turboed. I personally like the sound a lot. I have no idea what causes it but I like to know.

I love the sound you are referring to as we'll and it is not typical on most any other catless car that I know of. Head design? Header design? I didn't notice the whoosh sound until after the headers.
