Ilv1004 good luck to you, I say anyone that is willing to invest there own time and money into furthering what can be done to this platform is great. Will it work maybe not, but if it does what cool car that would be. IMO this is what we need to keep innovation going with F, even if this fails we can all learn valuable info on platform so keep tech info coming keep us update with your finding.

 

^^^ Why is what he is doing innovation for the F? I don't understand. Is he doing something the rest of us F owners want to do to our Fs? do ISX250 interior swap?

its not like im putting in a X50 interior to downgrade
as i said ther is no factory F convertible
and i was looking at the possibilty of making your own using factory parts
no need to be so agressive and negative about it
if it aint your cup of tea then so be it
i never built cars to please anyone
just building it for myself
by this project if i can provide more information to the community and more insight wouldnt this be a benefit to all?

innovation its not the word that i will choose
but i am trying to find out further about what is common and possiblities for the 2IS range

 

The only thing I'd be really concerned about is getting the 2UR-GSE ECM to talk to the rest of the ECUs without any glitches. There are a crap load of ECUs on any 2IS and they talk over CAN and BEAN. If the F ECM says something the rest of them either don't understand or don't like, it could be problematic. Or not. Hard to say without trying.

Sounds like a cool project, but personally I like the other project more...

the ecu isnt a problem
after pulling multiple 2is apart and comparing VDIM ecus etc
ISF runs same ecus are most 2IS
all i have to find is a 250c that has the same electronics
VDIM radar cruise control etc
but all this is just a though atm
if funds permitt me to do so
at this stage im funding my race car to be finished

 

It is innovative, because someday he can create a targa top instead of having a sunroof for the car Don't get me wrong it is convenient when dealing with traffic, or rain to close it up quick lol. Also major props to Lexus for the turn ****.

 

400hp is250c , sure why not? closes thing anyone would have to an is-fc
