Lexus IS F Wearever Brake pad issue / Just a Opinion
Lexus IS F Wearever Brake pads,
Hello everyone! I Just wanted to let every one know my opinion about wearever brake pads for the Lexus IS F. Ok I am the type of person that Doesnt agree with the if a "product is cheaper its not as good", My Haines undies feel just as good as my Gap boxers at half the price, Well since i found bag of mixed reviews and mostly positive I figured these pads would be a good purchase, Well I think Not, My first post was in reguards to the issue I was having where the lower 15% of the pad wasent making contact with the rotor well i pulled the pad off and found that contact was being made but nothing was sticking....Right WTF ,,,,,It doesnt make sense, Its like they where just rubbing on each other. What I Did was took the rotor off and wire wheeled the section where the contact wasent being made, I replaced the Pad with anther one and the issue is gone. I had anther set of the wearevers since i bought 2 sets because one was 50% off, But anyway these will be removed as soon as I get a OEM Set of pads. It just scares me because what if this issue was happening on the inside of the rotor or even both inners that would be like driving with 2 Brake pads errrr. I have heard of a bad brake pad but I was hoping I would of won the lotto instead of the Brake pad. Also I wanted to point out these pads I pictured have 675 miles on them (yeah note the cracked pad in the Center) and the oem ones have 18K, These pads only saw 2 stops from 110 down. Again I'm not writing this and telling everyone they need to get new pads I would simply be aware and check the inside of the rotor to ensure full contact is being made. Just a little food for thought.
In this case CHEAPER IS NOT BETTER, Back to washing my wheels every week.

Yikes, glad you spotted that.
I got to say though, if you are an informed consumer using logical decision making, the saying "you get what you pay for" is very valid. Brakes are probably the last place you want to try and pinch pennies, second to airplane maintenance... or parachutes.
