I share your concern, but one thing really important to remember, Toyota is one of the most conservative companies in all their engineering. Their tune will very likely allow the engine to survive a partially clogged fuel filter on 87 octane at WOT. They're THAT conservative. They don't ever want to replace an engine because something minor did not perform up to par so they build at LOT of headroom into their tune to ensure this doesn't happen. They also have some of the most aggressive responses to knock detection in the automotive industry. So, there's a LOT of potential just by fixing fuel maps and timing to be more aggressive, and for the owner who is prudent, a tune like this will be fine.
Indeed. I hope that any tune still leaves enough headroom. But as you pointed out, knock detection can save your bacon.
My metric is always the new Ford 5.0. I would hope with our DI that we can make solid gains more than the Boss 302 444 HP.
All this quest for more power and no outcome is getting all of us down and hopefully HGMS pulls through. Because if this is another dead end thread im gonna shoot myself. LOL. OR jump ship back to the Darkside (coming from a G37S Coupe) and get behind the wheel of a 2014 Nissan GTR.
HG Motorsports: will not be releasing any dyno sheets until the product is released..
This......concerns me.
What kind of product ever goes to market with out teasing the market first? Not only that but he mentioned finalizing the tune. Well if its finalized why not give us more detailed info other than a supposed release date?
No, I am not an ISF owner. But I soon will be one and it would be great to find out by the time I get one that there is tuning options out there. But I am not holding my breathe. After all the research I have done, and after all the companies promises......I understand it won't happen.
