Default more LED Headlight questions

So yes like most Im thinking of making the purchase
ive searched and there are so many threads on this already
ive read all about wires and splicing and so on

but i have a few quick questions

Im thinking of purchasing my own rather then the swell kit

what is the difference between the two?
1 the relay flasher
2 the cap locks part number 90075-66004
3 cord headlamp part number 81125-53540
is there anything else I would need?

Im not into splicing wires. can this be avoided?

ive read that swell wires it differently to make it plug and play or 100% bright or something im not exactly sure what makes swells special?
can you not just move like 4 or 5 of the wires in the harness to different pin locations for the same result?

is the fuse tap necessary on all?

ideally id like to have them on while on auto since i never take it off of auto
ive read the resent thread where mortis101 has that same issue
since the leds are on all the time in that situation, if I wire them up similar to his thread will the headlights still sense darkness and turn on or will they always be on too?

how do the led headlights operate on a stock 2012 IS?
is it the same?

Off is Off?
One click and they are ON?
Two clicks and they are ON with Headlights?
how do they behave on auto?

at the moment thats all i can think of
sorry to bring up another thread
but theres two things I hate
wires splicing them and plumbing lol
I usually try to avoid them at all costs

any help is much appreciated

and mostly everyone wired them up different
this is going to be a fun one lol
im looking to get the 2012 from the dealer and not the swell stripped
any pointers for wires in the harness to different pin locations?

No you do not have to do any splicing. All that has to be done is move 4-5 pins to different locations and they work perfect. There is no other wiring that needs to be done. Mine are at 100% brightness all the time and work perfect.

Just to add some information to Canadian cars....

I did not know the new 2012 lights are Bi-Xenon? ..but when activating the high beams on the stalk, the HID lights switch to a high power and raise or project the light spectrum. I never heard anyone talk about this aspect before?

The DRL's, because they are the law here, can not be switched off, using the Toyota Techstream.

The Sewell lights (stripped) are plug and play on a 2008 - no other splicing is necessary or need to run a separate power wire.

With the stalk turned to the different positions will result in the following:

Off = Just DRL's
Parking (one click) = DRL's and LED strips (full power)
Lights (2 clicks) = Headlights and LED strips (full power)
Auto = Just DRL's

I unplugged my DRL's/ Highbeams and so that they did not shine the same time the LED strips did. This is when I discovered the Bi-Xenon ability of these lights. This is great because I can still flash the lights to signal others and have some high beam ability.

With the stalk turned to the different positions with the DRL's disconnected (no warning lights) will result in the following:

Off = Nothing...no lights
Parking (one click) = LED strips (full power)
Lights (2 clicks) = Headlights and LED strips (full power)
Auto = Nothing no lights

^^ They are indeed HID Bi-Xenon Projector housings...

All IS headlamp housings with HID have the BiXenon technology built into them..

Projector (polyellipsoidal) Lamps
In this system a filament is located at one focus of an ellipsoidal reflector and has a condenser lens at the front of the lamp. A shade is located at the image plane, between the reflector and lens, and the projection of the top edge of this shade provides the low-beam cutoff. The shape of the shade edge, and its exact position in the optical system, determines the shape and sharpness of the cutoff. The shade may be lowered by a solenoid actuated pivot to provide low beam, and removed from the light path for high beam. Such optics are known as BiXenon.

Thanks Joe...I guess I was just a little ignorant as they have been installed for a few weeks, I never tested them until I removed the DRL's, I did not want to drive around without the ability high flash other drivers.

This would explain the little click noise as the shield lifts and lowers.
