If the coolent got on any of the idlers or accessories it could make the bearings squeak like that. I would guess it has something to do with the warranty work they did.

Well they haven't found anything yet. Said they left it on and test drove it and didn't hear the sound. Said they can't do anything if they don't hear the sound or where it's coming from. Sigh. Said theyll keep it one more day and check again. So tmrw I'll get it back.

Sounds more like the AC clutch...if you shut all HVAC, heater and AC functions off..does it stop?
You may have to turn the thermostat all the way up on the heat to shut off the AC auto function from kicking in.
Also check your serpentine tensioner, I just replaced mine a few months ago - Early 2008 cars had a TSB on replacement for failures/ misalignment issues

I agree with checking the tensioner, as well as behind the pulleys to see if you can feel any grinding marks etc.
I had a belt tensioner fail on my old B6 S4 and I thought the cam chain tensioner had gone, 1500$ later the issue was still there.. and then i looked down at the damn serpentine belt tensioner.

I agree the sound is/was definitely external, there is no muffling of the sound that would be associated with an internal failure.
