Random Call From My Lexus Sales Guy
#31
RC-F vs M4..tough decision when either one has come out yet. I think the new M3 will be coming sooner so it will be a good gauge of how the M4 will be. M3 will be a twin or triple turbo. My sales guy informed that the new coupe will be a V8. So, it would be an interesting battle between the two power plants in our immediate future. I prefer a V8 but..
M3 sedan is no more
only M4 coupe which is still a year from coming out

after researching the trademark process ( http://tess2.uspto.gov/bin/showfield?f=doc&state=4801:74jt80.8.1 ) I see it takes two years from filing to registration. The trademark for IS-F was filed in 2006. If there is an RC-F on the horizon, it would likely appear about 2016
I am a CMO and it does not necessarily take years to secure the mark. If the mark is not challenged, registration can be secured in less than a year.
I do it all the time.

They can't get rid of the M3...the M3 is the marquee car. Its the car that pretty much represents the whole segment.... Whatever they decide to call whatever model...2 doors or 4 doors...there still will be a M3
