Best rear view radar mount?
I just purchased the passport 9500ix (great radar detector btw) but i don't like having the cord hanging down and such. I really want to get it mounted and hard wired right below my rear view mirror. I know there are several different rear view mounts, so I really wanted to ask the lexus IS community which ones they think work best with their rear view mirror and why they think its the best mount (pictures would be appreciated). Thanks!

I mounted mine with the normal mount up to the left of the mirror, see pics. It has a clear shot through the back window and doesn't obstruct my view at all. It is also a little more hidden from thieves than directly in the middle of your windshield. A quick pull of the suction cups and throw it in your glove box like there never was a radar up.

Don't buy a blend mount. They're quality but they are not worth the money. I did a DIY using a rear bike reflector, a small 2mm thick piece of rubber strap to wrap around the review bar, and 1 8mm threaded bolt. Most people don't notice it until it beeps. I made my own mirror tap out of a phone cord. In total it cost me nothing for my "blend mount". I'll be upgrading to a custom Bel STi-R soon though.

I actually found that my radar detector was picking up signals even when on my passenger seat. So I said screw it and just have it wedged against my window which is working 100% just fine. It's picking up far-off signals just as well as when I had the suction cup mount up top.
A top-mount would be better but for zero cost this is working well for me and it's convenient to hit the Silence button on the cig adapter when I need to.
