ISF check VSC? P0301 code.
so ive been having this issue the last month... i ran the OBD scanner and found that it was
"P0301 - powertrain cylinder 1 misfire detected"
anyone have this issue and know if warranty would cover what the hell ever it is?
wonder if it has anything to do with my borla exhaust or intake hose/afe dry filter?
btw, after i resetted it a few times...finally today i was on the freeway and that error goes off again...the check engine light blinks this time...and i noticed I CANNOT GAS ANYMORE!!!!!! ON THE FREEWAY!! ..... luckily i was driving around 80MPH and had enough speed to last until the exit.... so i pulled over and turned off the car then turned it back on after.... the lights were still on, but now i can drive my car.... scared the ***** out of me since this happened on the freeway

P0301 - Cylinder misfire #1
How many miles do you have on your car?
Have you recently changed spark plugs?
Look at cylinder #1, which is located furthest to the front on the drivers side of the engine. Check your spark plug for abnormal wear along the porcelain. Replace if it looks as if the spark plug is damaged.
Also swap coil packs (for example: swap coil packs 1 and 3). If the misfire travels, then you know that the misfire is coming from the bad coil pack. If the misfire stays at cylinder 1, then it could be possible other issues are causing the misfire.
Start simple.
Engine cylinder layout:
8 7
6 5
4 3
2 1
v
(Front of Car)
If you don't feel comfortable doing some trouble shooting, take the car to a mechanic. Don't wait to long. Most likely it will be a bad spark plug. Check engine blinking just means that the misfire was bad enough that, if the car is driven long enough, damage can be done to the catalytic converter.

Ok I got it done today and took a look at the spark plugs...... man the first two were SHOT! all the prongs at the top were near gone! I'll post a pic up later.... but now the car runs like new again.... huge difference in the feeling..... both # number spark plug 1 and 2 were gone.
