450 will not be enough unless Lexus sheds weight. The new M3/M4 are dropping weight in addition to their HP boost.

If it looks good, it's cheaper than it's german rivals, performs better, and is more reliable, then I'll buy one.

Right but I'm assuming the coupe will be lighter than our current F's

maybe... the wheelbase will be shorter than the new IS. Looks like it might cost $100k USD per worldcarfans. but hopefully it is more like $65-70k.....

rumour is
339kw refined version of the current 8 speed
still 2urgse under the hood
extra power made via tuning and race tuned exhaust

That's going to be the most interesting thing... will it have a "version" of the 2UR GSE or something else entirely. If it is just a tweaked ISF engine, then I would be really curious as to what the tweaks are (and why they didn't do them for the ISF in the first place). Maybe it will provide enough insight to those that are constantly trying to squeeze more power out of our current engine.

^^^Lexus appears to develop it to deliver "just enough" hp to edge out the M3/M4's hp numbers on paper, yet not bump it up enough (in theory) to affect long term reliability...416/414hp - 455/450hp. I kind of wish they considered the C63 it's main competition so we could see some bigger hp increases.

I would expect to see a tuned up V8 in the '15. They know the car is being bought by gas guzzlers.
. They can keep the turbos for the Germans to blow up in the M3s and M5s.

Um, ok, you can go slow then! I'll take a turbo 6 ANY day of the week. Especially if the badging is xJZ-GTE.

Nothing beats the sound of a inline 6 IMO. Specially a high boosted one with a big snail.

enjoy. Don't mind the fugly body kit.

what makes me wonder is that it is apparently the same engine family of what we have now a v8 , 5.0 at least in the article I saw from japan, and it claims the f has now 460 instead of the 416h hp we have now .
If this is the case it would be interesting to find out where lexus squeezed out those extra ponies , maybe is something we can use on our cars , I would love the extra hp on my platform because I still don't like the new one. Just my two cents

if the extra power comes from tuning we are sord of screwed on the department , if it comes with a sport tuned exhaust , most of us have already surpassed that with our current set ups , we have to remember we are talking about hp not whp!

if it is something else that I would like to know

cylinder deactivation changes the game. they can tune the engine for more power but cylinder deactivation will keep the mpg in check.

Got my car serviced today at Lexus and the service manager told me he has already received information about the RC F. 339KW 2 door coupe, hitting Australian shores in early 2014. That's all he could tell me.
