Is there a consensus between which Steering ECU is the better upgrade in terms of feel/drivability for 2008-2010? 2011-2012 (P/N: 89650-53041) or 2013-2014 (P/N: 89650-53042) ?

i would get the 42 as it is the most up to date one and it gets rid of the notchy feeling on the steering wheel from what Lance mention in the previous post.

^^^^for more information on the LCA bushings, you may want to explore this thread. Replacement LCA bushings are available from both RRRacing and Figgs.

Default Installed new steering ECU.

Installed the new steering ECU but dropped one of the safety clips. Does anyone know the part number on this little piece? Searched for a while now but haven't been successful. Provided a picture that I found on google for reference:

Ouch. That part doesn't have to come all the way off. TIS shows the connector part number is 82824-22210, but it doesn't appear to be available anywhere. There are no individual parts for connectors at all.

Time to go fishing...

Yeah, I know it sucks. Trying to be careful...it wasn't releasing because it hadn't been touched in 10 years...and then "pop", it was out. Time to go wire harness hunting. Its not a big deal, just keeps the connector in the completely locked position. More of piece of mind then anything else. I have so much other work to do on the car its last on the list. Thanks lobux.

For anyone that may lose a safety release clip like I did...this is what I was able to find. The original and correct part number that Lobux referenced (82824-22210) did not come up as a good part number when I called it into Lexus and Toyota.

After some research, this is what I was able to find.

Hope this may help someone in the future.

2013 350 F-Sport steering ECU vs 10-11 IS-F ECU (89650-53041)

As many of you came from 350's, anyone drive the 2012 - 2013 F-Sport? It has a different ECU than base 350.
2012 -2013 F-Sport PN 89650-53082 (<2012 "81") vs base 350 89650-53061 (60 for earlier).

I like how it drives however I hate how easily the nannies kick in. Steering input is light at low speed, firms up and is stable and very predictable at high speed. There is however no noticeable change from normal to sport mode.

If anyone could share input that would be great.
Thanks

The best person to address your question is @Jeff Lange . He's gone through the painstaking process of testing out multiple versions of the ISX50 Steering ECUs (normal and F-Sport) as well as several versions of the IS-F Steering ECUs. All info can be found on this thread: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...ering-ecu.html

Who can help get the ECU from Canada? Seems the ECU is double the price in the US.

Remove battery and tray.

Perform relearn prompts via techstream or dealer equivalent scan tool software.
Either way you need stable software to carryout the process.
I won't discuss techstream much further than this due to forum rules & the legality of it.

There are no rules against discussing Techstream unless you're talking about pirate software and how to acquire it. I have my own professional subscription and I've talked about it many times.

And yes, calibrating the new ECU is nothing special with the right tools. I did mine myself too.
