You guys are in the 'got lucky' category. Any smog tech who wants to protect his license will surely take a look under the car, especially if there is an aftermarket cat-back (or more) exhaust installed. They can lose their livelihood if busted. Some techs are lazier than others. 🤷♂️

Same here (but SoCal - 626). I have stock headers and Joe Z exhaust. My place has just been visually inspecting the hood and checking for codes. They've never checked underneath the car.
I do think I have cracked headers though and I'm constantly debating if I should get the PPE headers w/ hi-flow cats, but it would be an expensive venture if I wasn't able to pass smog... At the same time, spending all that money on stock headers for 0 gain would suck too
