Hello all, my name is Tye. I don't currently own a lexus but may be in the market soon for one. I currently own a 2006 GTO with some work that makes 450whp but its quite loud and has become prone to needing some work as the power and the miles rack up. I'm getting older now and am thinking of getting rid of it for a ISF or a CTS-V or something of the sort. I really like the ISF very much. Its different and sure is a sexy car.
I do have some questions from owners though. I know Toyota/Lexus has a great reputation for reliability but how have your ISF's been holding up? I like to drive aggressively and want something that will hold up well.
Secondly , what are the options for modding? I have done some research and have seen things like Joe Z intakes, Sikky/PPE headers and several cat back options but what about tuning? Does anyone do this? Im sure after adding headers a tune would be beneficial. They seem to make decent power with headers.
Thanks for any insight guys.

^^^correct. no tuning options but with FBO you will be at 400rwhp. I beat the living **** out of mine and have not had one issue. nitrous has been done by a few members here and I will let them chime in on that. I suggest you go test drive one and see how it fits your needs and wants.

Thanks. I haven't driven one yet but plan on finding one soon to do that. I drove a IS350 last year and really liked that, I imaging the ISF to be similar but faster with better handling. Sucks on the tuning. Wonder if anyone has checked the air/fuel ratio after headers? And what would one do with the Check Engine Light with deleting the cats?

Between 400-410whp is where this car will max out unless you go with NO2. There are ZERO reliable tuning options for this car, and don't hold your breath that there ever will be any. If you buy this car expecting to get a tune done somewhere down the road, you are making a poor decision.
That said, do an exhaust and headers and you'll get 400-410 of the most reliable wheel horsepower you can find, especially on a 4-door sedan. This is the Lexus calling card... the other luxury manufacturers may offer more mods and more power, but the Lexus will be the most reliable of the bunch. I'm sure just about every one of us on this forum purchased the ISF over the M3, C63, and CTS-V in part because of the reliability. It also gets the best gas mileage out of the bunch if that sort of thing matters to you.
The major header manufacturers (Sikky and PPE) have CEL fixes that work just fine, so you can go catless and not have any CELs.
And to echo blitz a couple posts above me, make sure to press the sport button at the start of your test drive!

no on has a proven tuning solution at this time.
bolt on parts are much more scarce than the LS game.
many members on here making around the 400 whp mark with headers/exhaust with no issues to reliability

Trust us. There are no reliable and proven tuning options for this car, and there likely won't be. There are a couple of 10+ page threads on this very topic out there if you just search. But if you want to save the time searching, take our word for it... 400-410whp is where this car maxes out. If you want more than that, look elsewhere.
