Dealership replacing OEM brake pads for squeal?
I took my car into the dealer to see if they would replace my brake pads under the LSB 004311 and LSB 004410. They werent able to do it because the lsb's were only for 2008-2011 isf's.
I have a 2012 and the brakes squeal really bad. Is there a new lsb for 2012 models? They said i had about 60% life left on my pads. The dealer cleaned them and they stopped squealing for a few days but now its back. The squealing is so embarrasing. If there is not a new lsb, any tips on how to make the oem pads stop/reduce squealing?
Any help is appreciated.
Thank You.

Yea i know they all squeal to a certain extent, but mines is horrible. I would replace my pads with aftermarket pads to reduce squealing, but dealer said i had like 60% pads left. So i think it would be a waste of money to do so at this point.

It's really going to boil down to how annoying it is, and if it's worth the money to try and reduce it. I say reduce it because it's unclear to me if it can be completely eliminated even with aftermarket pads.
The upside is, if you do go ahead and replace the pads, you can also most likely reduce the amount of dust at the same time using aftermarket pads (purchased through forum sponsors with a CL discount) mentioned here and in the main IS-F brake thread.

I'm basically in the same boat. I've got about 50% remaining on my pads and I'm getting low-speed brake squeal; it's annoying and embarrassing at the same time. I've already purchased Project Mu pads and I'm trying to decide when I'm going to change them out. I should carry them with me all the time; it's not going to be long before I'm just fed up with the noise and I'll drop my F off at my mechanic and have them replaced.

I just had Lexus do the (second) swap on the rears on my '08 since it was still squealing. Call the 800 number to complain and they may cover it. However, my brand new OEM pads and rotors are WAILING worse than they were before. So far, the dealership is saying they've put the latest parts on, and there isn't anything else to do. I just paid $350 in labor for brand new stuff and the car is now too embarrassing to drive. I'm in a stall pattern with the dealership. Very frustrated.

Time will tell. Mine would be squealing when braking at low speeds to the point where it go really bad and went on for a couple weeks. Well, laziness paid off (aka not doing anything about it) and now the squeal is mysteriously gone (I'll maybe hear some faint sounds here and there but nothing compared to the old squeals)

Yes, they squeal like a stuck pig. Solutions:
1. Drive fast.
2. Do some very aggressive braking, the squealing seems to disappear for a while after that (e.g. after a track session)
3. Blast your brakes with high pressure water, especially the rotors. May help for a bit but once the dust comes back it will squeal again.
In summary, it squeals because racecar.

I'm surprised your brake pads make so much noise.
When I had my OEM pads on I rarely got any noises, maybe it's to do with the weather here (it hasn't rained a single drop in like 3 years) lol so maybe since they don't get wet they don't make much noise.
I would say try Project Mu pads, ever since switching I hear nothing now
