Default Just Got My PPE Race headers installed.

Hey everyone I just got my PPE headers installed. I wanted to let everyone what the difference is like. I had Vivid racing install them in gilbert arizona. Vivid Racing seem to be well established and not some little shop. They got it all done in one day. It took the entire day to do it though.

The Gains-

I had to drive home to north phoenix which is around 40 miles. The car slowly picked up more and more power the entire way home. I believe the ecu is still adjusting and and breaking in as well. The sound is Amazing. Its deeper and just sounds like the car is running a lot better with the extremely restrictive exhaust manifold gone. Gas mileage on the highway has already picked up to and definately when cruising too. When the Car starts it sounds way deeper and meaner. I brought my wife into the garage to listen to it start and she had a huge grin on her face when she herd it start .

Horsepower= I would say a solid 50bhp maybe more but ecu still is adjusting

Does anyone know how long it takes for the ecu to adjust? how long is the break in period?

The car just sounds awesome now. I don't have the full exhaust done yet.

Nice! I'm planning on getting the PPE headers installed too. Why didn't you have PPE do the install?

Also, I'm in north Phoenix as well. Would love to meet up and hear your car!

install is any where from $800-1k. all depends on where you have it done. I'm sure some shops will be cheaper if they have done an isf before.

PPE really is not an install shop. They design and fabricate the headers, but the installation is really not what they are about. They do, however, on occasion loan out their lift and equipment on weekends for use by a known, to them, installer. If you want PPE associated with the install, give Paul a call and talk to him.

Ppe supplied wiring for o2 sensor. They said on occasion the o2 sensor gets ceased in the stock manifold. Vivid said if this happens they would get ola new one from lexus. Luckly mine did not cease up. You need to buy set of new block/header gaskets from a dealer. Gaskets to attach headers to stock exhaust were provided by ppe.

I talked to them a couple months ago and they said they could install the headers and also my Joe-Z exhaust. Just wanted to make sure they're still doing installs.

I put it off for a while and finally just decided to do it. Totally worth it. The stock manifold is so restrictive its unbelievable.

Does anyone know how long it takes the ecu to adjust to the new headers?

Got the PPE headers on mine as well coupled with the JoeZ exhaust. Incredible setup. Made 419.9 whp and 391.8 tq on UMS Tunings Dynapack. I'm super happy with mine. Also, have spoken with Paul over at PPE, stand up guy.

Ive debated using this setup. The ppe with the joe z. Whats the noise like? is it obnoxiously loud?
