Or with a little forethought. You could have bought an extension from Jerry for 1/3 of the dealer cost.
I got a platinum for 2 years on my RX from Jerry. 600 dollars. 82 cents a day is cheap insurance.

i have a 08 isf the same thing happend to me. they dont cover this under warrenty but this is a problem that comes from factory. go to your local dealer they will help you hopefully like they helped me and replace it for you without a dollar out of your pocket. good luck!

Just search eBay for 7.3'' touch screen digitizer and get a new digitizer, slice the old one off with a scalpel or X-acto knife, stick the new one down with cellphone two sided sticky tape and you're golden for $50.
It's a whole lot easier than replacing the AMOLED and the digitizer on my Nokia 920, and I did that last week after I cracked them both.
If you do the eBay search, you'll see there are a few options of suppliers. If you really want to go cheap, just buy a 7.0" unit - it will work and it will be under $10.
This is pretty simple electronics stuff. We haven't even had to turn on a soldering station yet to get these fixed.
If mine breaks, I'll make a video and post it. But I never use mine anymore. The phone's nav is a million times better.

i wish they make something that can integrate our smartphones into the system. no need to use their nav system, we can just use google maps.

guys, thanks for the feedback.however i was trying to avoid taking this task...
Here's an update.. so Lexus Corp called me and they are only convering 1k of the replcement of the screen. i voiced out my opinion and concern that i am not the only one affected and that other's were replaced for free (Goodwill) off warranty... do you guys think this is something to get mad at them? i mean its a manufacturer issue...
They said they called my local Lexus Dealer previously to get my service hist. ect... mind you i take my car in to Lexus for all its maint. Never expected them to make me pay 2k. but its kool.. i guess its a lesson to be learned. always put warranty on your vehicle...
I will take this apart today and keep you guys updated throughout the process...

Update... I ordered the screen from ebay link below: The screen turns on and all but the touch screen is still not working????? FML! DId i get a bad screen? It doesn't look new to me.
