Trade 08 F for 2010 cts-v
Found a guy that would be willing to swap his litly moded 2010 cts-v for my f and a couple g. His v has the recaro interior and is putting Down 580 wheel with a intake boost pully upgrade and tune. What do you guys think... Interesting deal? It was 56k about 5 more than mine but it's two years newer

i would do it since you are into racing. a local F owner here traded his 08 for a 10 ctsv as well and he says its a lot faster. i really like them, especially the sound. a local CTSV owner has 600whp and he says he regrets getting the 6 speed manual due to launches and shifts. He still ran a 11.4 though in he quarter mile.

You would definitely have more aftermarket support with engine and vehicle...however is the CTS-V really a track car, or more a muscle car...hmmmmm.
I loved my LSx cars....would love to have another one in the garage.'
If you are a track rat...look into a lighter car with the same power...used GT3

yes I would trade. The CTS-V is a fantastic car. It's the car that made me a believer in GM's turnaround. It has a great interior, engine, and looks great on the outside. I do a head turn every time I see one. Especially one in black.

I looked into a V before I bought my F and to be honest I wasn't as impressed with it. It does have quite a bit more mod potential than the F and if you are into tracking that very well may be worth it. They are very very fast cars though and from what I have heard they can handle their own on the track. Whatever you end up deciding we need pics

I'd do it, just to switch it up, thats a sick car too..you only live once!
However, you will probably lose some of that reliability we have grown accustom to. There are a lot more issues on the Cadillac owners forum than people have on CL.

There are loads of pros and cons but if you're going to be beating on the car I would stay with the ISF. I agree that I don't really see the Caddy holding up quite as well over time and abuse.
Off the track you'll be getting way less MPG if that's any concern to you. I would love a CTS-V wagon so I browse those forums a lot and regularly read complaints of 10-12mpg which is pretty brutal. But with that much power who cares!

Of all of the competitors to the ISF (The M3, the S5 and the C63) I like the CTS-V the most. That said, the only reason to do this deal would be simply because you're bored with the F and just want a change. That's something only you can answer. At the end of the day you'll have a slightly newer, faster, and LESS reliable 4 door super sedan. A very nice and "worthy" car for sure, but something very similar to what you already have, just faster.
Even though a Viper doesn't fit "vbb's reasons for getting rid of the ISF" I like that thinking. I can better see getting rid of the ISF to go a TOTALLY different direction, like if you want a high HP, pure sports car, and not a fast sport luxury sedan. The 08-09 Vipers have what, 600hp? Plus, they look damn cool too. For me, the choice would be a Porsche, but that would be me going in a totally different direction. I'd dump the ISF for a GT3, 911 Turbo, and even a 997.2 Carrera 4S. That's a pure and proper sports car, and it make sense.
So, back to Darbs- I'd say only go for it if you're bored. Otherwise, hold out for the Porsche you know you want.

I've been doing extensive research, the 08 Viper is a raw sports car with no traction control and lacks a bunch of other stuff, but when learned how to drive can be a blast. Most 2008+ have nav, AC and all that. Luxury is obviously nowhere near the F but I'd be willing to give up some amenities for 600hp and the ridiculous amount of torque, which I've been told is addicting. And astonishingly enough they are very reliable when taken care of properly. In essence it's a supercar with normal maintenance costs nowhere near the Ferraris, Lambos and Maseratis of the world. It's a car that even skilled drivers need to learn how to drive to fully exploit its limits. They are rare and hold their value extremely well. Darbs I know you're a track junkie, look into the Viper. At least test drive one before you make up your mind.
