New radio
I searched the forums and couldnt find a 2012 model with the same issue. Bout a week ago I noticed that my radio had a lot of static and it was on every station I turned it to. I set an appointment with my local dealer. I took the car in this morning and the tech said that there was something wrong with my radio and they had to order a new one for me. My service advisor said that there was something loose in the radio causing it to have bad static. Anyone else heard of this?

I know I'm bringing and old thread back to light but the cause of the static of the FM wasn't the radio. It was actually the back window I just happen to notice that was the case when I turned on rear defroster then the static started to happen. Took it to the dealer all in all got a new radio, new back glass, and window re-tinted. In case this happens check the rear glass by turning on rear defroster to see if it causes static on the FM station.

Reviving this thread as it is the only one that I found that has the same issue as I just started to have. I had to use the defroster this morning and noticed that the FM radio had a ton of static while the defroster was on. It would come and go as the button was pressed. I don't see replacing the radio and glass as the best solution to this issue.
Anyone else had the same problem? Any suggestions? It sounds like maybe a grounding issue. I know that the touchscreen was replaced in my car a while back based on the service records. Could a connection behind the radio be unsecure?

Sounds like cross talk. The antenna is in the glass and the heating element is stuck on the glass. Doubt it's ground, more like bad regulator in the alternator, or a noise reduction capacitor somewhere decided to quit working. Does the static sound like alternator whine? Pitch varies with engine speed?

It doesn't sound like alternator whine.
The car does seem like, when the button is pressed to start the car, that it cranks/turns over 1-2 more times than it used to before it starts up.
