Default Is it bad to have little gas in your tank

Is it bad to have very little gas in your tank, especially if its very cold overnight, or it doesn't matter.
Sometimes I find myself late at night not filling up until the next morning.

Not really. There is a sub-tank in the fuel tank to keep the pump fully immersed in fuel as long as the pickup is below the fuel level. Toyota has been doing this since the Supra. It also helps a lot as the track because it's harder to starve the fuel pump.

Default Doubt it is bad

But, I have heard rumors about sediment and crap at the bottom of the tank that will get sucked up by the fuel pump when the fuel level is very low. I don't believe it, but I have heard it.

My Dad's been saying that to me forever! I've never been too concerned about it, altough I rarely run my tank to fumes-level

Take a look at post 23 and 24. There's nothing to worry about unless you're pouring sand into your gas tank.
