Thanks for the feedback guys.

ULTSISF: Was that before tax & license or was that out the door?

I was planning on putting 10k down, almost have that amount saved, but looks like I'll be better off saving closer to 15k as a DP. I want to keep my payment in the low $400/month range or lower.

I've thought about getting a 2008-10 that I can definitely get now, but then I realize l'll likely be regretting it because the 2011 is what I really want. I like the wheels on the 2011, the revised suspension, the headlights, the minor interior changes. Not worth it to drop almost 50k and be a little iffy on my choice.

Almost there, I'll likely be hitting my bonus in January again, so plan on seeing pics of my F very soon! haha

Noticed that the 2014's ISF are being advertised on Autotrader. With it, I've seen price drops in 2011's by about $1,000-1,500. Good news.

Interestingly enough the black ISF I test drove a few weeks ago at South Coast Mitsubishi actually went UP in price from $46,900 to $48,700. Likely as a negotiation point.

Only thing I'm worried about now is finding a black 2011 low mileage ISF somewhat close to me. Don't mind driving to a neighboring state, but in all my searching I've only seen 2 2011 Black F's for sale in my proximity. That's through Autotrader searches with a 300 mile radius from my area.

I'm going to put down about $12,500 as my down payment.

I feel like I have more negotiation leverage on a used low mileage 2011 with the '14's coming out.

Is it unrealistic to think I can negotiate the 45,500 price tags I'm seeing down to $44k?

Thanks guys, getting so eager to get my F! Almost there.

Yes you can...The few black ISF I saw there had some major paint work flaws but this was last september when i saw them.. U can always negotiate down just work hard at it and double check all the paint work is clean..

Thanks for the feedback 1BAD4DR.

I noticed that the one I test drove, which might have been one of the same ones you saw had a handful of surface level scratches on the driver's side door, and quarter panel.

When he gave us the Carfax I noticed the car was purchased at an auction in New Jersey, then spent some time in Florida before being shipped out to So Cal.

I was a little concerned about that, from stories I've heard about cars being shipped tot he West Coast from the hurricane areas and due to weather damage in cold weather states.

Thoughts on that?

extreme patience, don't settle if you are iffy on anything, i would personally hold out for a one owner vehicle, preferably buying from an individual who has obviously taken care of the vehicle. you will probably have to travel to get it, but its worth it imo.

Good advice, I think as I get closet to saving the total DP $$$, I'm getting excited.

But I definitely plan on getting the absolute best car for that type of investment.

I'll keep you posted on what I find.

I located a one owner black '11 ISF with mileage in the low 30's, going to go see it tomorrow.

Price tag on it is $44k. As I mentioned a couple weeks ago, with the 2014's out now, what do you guys think I can negotiate the price down to?

I noticed they recently dropped the price from 46k to 44k.

Can I get it down to $41,500 before tax and license? Is that realistic?

Lexus hard/unwilling to negotiate on the ISF here is SoCal. There was a used white one at the dealer in Mission Viejo Ca @ about the mid forties. Waiting for any incentive at this point.

Hey Redshift

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I've seen that white one during my search, the nice thing about that one is its a pre-certified vehicle. so that 44,900 price tag is actually a pretty damn good deal.

I didn't get a chance to the see the black one I'm interested in yesterday. Going to set up an appointment to go see it this weekend.

Going to check it out this weekend. Having some trouble finding low mileage '11 black F's available.

Also open to Sonic Blue, but that looks like it carries a premium price tag as well.

I've been to Newport Lexus and South County Lexus, planning on visting the other dealers just to see if they will negotiate. My daughter is concerned the IS-F is being discontinued I'm wondering about it as well but the resale value is holding so far.

Going to see a Matador Red ISF today, under 20XXX miles. Not completely sold on the color, once I see it in person then I will know right away.

Also going to see a black one tomorrow, if I get the price I want I should be posting pics soon after a long patient wait.

Both cars are one owner vehicles which makes me feel confident.

I've noticed a variance when doing price research on Truecar & KBB.

Part of this I realize is Truecar shows private party pricing, where KBB shows both dealer and PP.

Lastly, the one I'm seeing today has 19xxx miles, in general how long do these tires last? My thought is if they are still the stock tires, they will likely need to be replaced soon.

Also how often to the brake pad/rotors need to be changed on these beasts?

Thx guys,

Tires and brake life depends on driving style. Some people can get 25-30k on tires, some 12k.
Rear rotors and pads can easily last 50k+ miles, maybe even 100k or more. Fronts pads, up to 30k. Front rotors, 30-50k depending on driving style, track days, etc.

It is difficult to project tire and brake wear, since it's dependent on the driver and usage of the vehicle.

Thanks for the feedback Mike!

Well I'm happy to say after a lot of research and then some more research and all the great help from fellow CL members, I'm the proud owner of a 2011 Matador Red ISF. I'll be making a new thread about it and posting pics tomorrow.

Here are pics from the ad online:

Excited to be an official member, instead of a lurker. I told myself I'm going to keep the car stock, but we will see what happens…haha

The wait is finally over.
